Fun fact about Into You: Every single bassline in that song, from the simpler, soft ones in the verses, to the more complicated, distorted ones in the chorus, are all made by a human voice and then processed to make it sound as if it's a bass.

So just as a general comment, I’m not really wrapped up in celebrity relationships. So just try to interchange Mac’s name with Ricky(I know it doesn’t necessarily apply with what I say sometimes). I was painfully aware of it during editing. Sorry, I make these mistakes a lot, I hope it doesn’t deter from the enjoyment of the video. I’ll try and be better about it in the future.

This album was really a grow up in a artist. If you hear the two first albums and this album, it's was a difference in the sound and how she evolved in the songwritting process (writting 11 of the 17 tracks (if you count the target version) in the album), while her role in the two first albums in songwritter was limited. She was more implicated to ever in the project and in the songwritting then ever. This album was notably to use more trap and hip-hop music in songs like ''Let Me Love You'' and ''Everyday'', explored so many genres in this album like House, rock, disco, reggae and soul, aside to she distanced her sound of her two first albums (The song ''Moonlight'' was the only song to remain at her sound of ''Your Truly'' and ''My Everything''). It's was the pont between the two first albums and her work later (more RnB, trap and hip-hop). My favorite album of her and it's was her best album of her career.

The song knew better/forever boy was about getting over big Sean (first song) and moving on with Ricky (her forever boy) and then after the album was out and she started dating mac she released a full version of knew better (here on KZbin, highly recommend) where it’s a rap verse about how Ricky was the bad one who made her cry and how mac was her soulmate. It’s super cute. Loved her and mac together. Knew better/ forever boy were two separate full songs but she had to choose one so she did half of each because she loved them both lol.

Totally understand how you wanted the album to tell a story and be cohesive like a lot of great albums. Not every song is about one person and this album was to get her big enough on the radio hits and with fans so that she could make albums like sweetener that is the kind of music she loves to listen to.

Some songs were about Ricky Alvarez, her ex before Mac. However I don’t think the album has a storyline, she was still starting out I think here she was still not fully involved in the writing of most songs or what songs she sings, but the label. Therefore it’s probably just an album full of hits her label chose. (I do think some of them are more personal to her like moonlight, I don’t care or sometimes)
