Sorry bud, it isn't an apology when you say you are sorry for being an ass and then proceed to explain all the reasons and circumstances that "caused" you to behave that way. He needed to just say he was sorry for his behavior and shut his cake hole. He behaved like a petulant little boy who dropped their ice cream and then blamed the ground for it.

Disclosure: I am an Indian 😊. Just going to share some thoughts. It is true that there is no extensive sailing culture today, besides mainly in the Indian Navy and the fishermen who depend on it for their livelihood. But, in addition to what Carl above has said, there has been both a boat/shipbuilding as well as a sailing heritage in India. I am not a sailor but spent two years working as a researcher with the National Maritime Foundation in New Delhi. Learned a lot about ancient and medieval Indian seafaring. You could look up on Google about the seaport of Lothal, the Kalinga empire's sailing to SE Asia, the Chola empire's naval expeditions, the Maratha pirates/privateers, and the Kunjali Marakkars. We are trying to revive what has been lost due to either our own cultural 'sea-blindness', military defeats at sea and the setback it must have caused to Indian seafaring or due to colonial subjugation.

Just because Knox had no iPhone, is it right to punish sailors mental health given that they are already risking their lives by sailing in extreme situations? GGR appears to care allot about physical safety, however I am not sure the same effort goes into ensuring the mental wellbeing of the entrants. It is important to be objective in the pursuit of balance.

all entrants can call Race control any time for a Chat to relieve stress and many do...we care :) BUT the GGR is a serious mental and Physical challenge..they sign on for that.
@basebrown Жыл бұрын
@@mcintyreadventure Call Race control? like the samaritans? Are your staff suitably qualified and experienced mental health professionals? People understand that GGR is a serious mental challenge and skills such as resilience and endurance are part and parcel of the race. However, it may be disrespectful to race participants for you to cancel their mental health concerns by saying 'Oh well, thats the GGR'. It is fair to expect GGR to ensure the health and safety of participants as far as reasonably practicable, however this mantra may be flawed, as failing to properly address their mental health issues directly increases both the likelihood and severity of injury.
@Goldengloberace Жыл бұрын
@@basebrown thanks for your constructive comment...any entrant who has a genuine mental health concern should retire from the GGR..infact they have signed a document agreeing to do just that when they join the GGR...so they are fully aware of the challenge at all levels and they are volunteers in the game so>>> that's the GGR...

There are 4 mandatory, brief stops. The contestants must come in close to sure, anchor or pick up a mooring and stay there for about 1 hour. As well exchange letters and film. But no external help is permitted such as extra food , water, fuel repairs etc. Those are the rules , and all contestants must follow them.
@mcintyreadventure Жыл бұрын
NON stop unassisted still allows anchoring to make repairs and even landing below the hightide line but not touching anyone or receiving any physical help and the film drops follow the same done in the 1968 GGR..
