noob Anji question for 2:05 - if the 236K into c.S enables a full combo, how come Anjis don't just c.S after every 236K where they're close enough instead of 214P?

When Anji spin gets a clink, the amount of time you have to launch a counterattack depends on the move you block. This is because spin doesn't interrupt the opponent's move, it just pauses it. Meanwhile, Anji just gets to ignore the moves hitstun, instead locking himself into a short animation). If the move is a slash or heavy slash, typically you will have enough time to do c.S into a full combo. This is because Anjis clink animation is far shorter than the remaining duration of the opponents attack. However, if you spin a punch, kick or otherwise fast move, you won't have time to do c.S; the remainder of their attack animation is not long enough for Anji to finish his animation and launch c.S. Therefore, people often go for midare or a throw instead. A final reason you might see Anji go for midare is because the opponent can cancel their attack using a purple roman cancel to try and escape Anjis counterattack. Midare is fast enough where, barring very distant clinks against characters like Johnny or Ramlethal, they won't be able to get away. If anything didn't make sense, Dustloop might be able to explain it better than I.
