Umi is the only person in the top level who uses more HMC RC in high-level gameplay compared to Tatuma and Moochi. She is undoubtedly so good at RC that you can see some good mixups. But Sol has high damage to the point. There is no reason not to use it when the opponent has no meter. Sol's damage is the key factor. Why Hmc Rc still looks more useful. But Riot stamps to Yrc into anything still rules.

umisho destroyed me in my local on friday (i got 5th/48) and i realized that i literally never fought a top sol. basically everything i do against other sols doesn't work against her so i feel like i have to learn everything again. i also got mentally scarred from her dps and got too scared at times. my nerves still get the better of me and my judgement the final score this set was 1-17 lol. i got close to winning games but really struggled to close them out. i'm gonna try to join next local but travel expenses suck so i'm gonna try to carpool. the first step to improving is playing more and losing.

HMC is pretty much only usable in like one situation, which appears in Axl matchup. The situation is: "I have full tension and I don't want to play neutral against this guy." So, characters like Axl, Testament (maybe?), Jack-o, Happy Chaos, and maybe weirdos like Bridget and Johnny with their stupidly far hitting normals. You use HMC to get close to them, you're really not expecting it to land, you're only using it to force them to jump. Once you see them jump, you roman cancel and then it become a game of: "Will the Sol try and air grab me? If he does, I should use a move. But what if he goes for volcanic viper or something? If he does that I need to keep air blocking..."
