All Billy is doing is proving why mages aren’t people.

Billy ignoring the entire premise of proving mages are people. Should've thrown something out there like "normal people are attracted to the best". He made a great case for mage being the real hero class of wow though.

When frost interrupts at start of a pull then pops their CDs and interrupts again after shifting power resets the counterspell CD. Most Pog mage move ever.

You should get someone who played ff14 to debate it. You might get a debuff when res'ed however, you have unlimited battle res's. 75% or even 50% damage is more than 0. And after the minute goes by, you're back up to 100%. So if you screw up, there is an easy road to redemption. Important also to note that your defensives and your group buffs are not reduced from the debuff so you can still contribute to the group. Plus's are always a skill check and you can still screw your run with a bad play. FF14 eventually becomes a battle res chain encounter with sprouts to which you just have to carry on forward with and eventually take shit down. FF14 is mostly telegraphs that show you where to not stand. There are some mechanics that you have to look at the boss for cues, however the vast, vast majority is paint on the ground. FF14 trash is a rick roll, and rarely are interrupt rotations needed whatsoever. Mechanics may come one after another in ff14 but you don't see periods of massively stacked mechanics like you do in wow, both from boss's and trash. The "perfect dance" you have to do in ff14 is also done in wow depending on your trash pull even. Using the fact that people have to learn the fight in ff14 vs wow as proof it's harder is silly. People still had to learn that wow fight. And they certainly had to learn how to do it on higher keys and I'd argue a lot changes when you're doing speed runs. It's a totally different experience barreling through a dungeon, and that certainly isn't learned on the PTR.

In FF you have to learn every mechanic by name and know how to react to them based on boss body language or his hast bar (as the order of most of the mechanics are random every encounter). So a boss can be raising an arm while casting a spell while some aoes appear around the room and based on all this you have to know what to do, were to go and how to keep your rotation and your uptime. Meanwhile in WoW you use addons that tell you SPECIFICALLY all the mechanics, how to do them, when are they coming (with a TIMER) and even mark positions in the floor to show players where to move. In FF everything depends on the player skill and memory. In WoW you end up just following the orders of an addon. For the resurrection topic. In high end (savage or ultimate) a dead player means to struggle against the next dps check and 2 dead players or a player that died twice means not passing the next check or not being able to solve mechanics that need the 8 players alive (stack damage mechanics, mechanics that need to be done by 4 teams of 2 players, etc). The personal responsability is MUCH higher, 1 person fucking up means death of the other 7. That said resurrecting uses a fuckton of MP and its a 6-7 seconds cast without swifcast. If you are using a Red Mague for ressing you are depleting a good dps of his MP and using that time on ressing and not on damaging. Not everything is as positive as you may think. That said, it's amazing to clear casual content with lots of 1 hit deaths like the alliance raids as they dont usually have enrage times.

@@royox actually the markings got removed long ago, long ago. Back then it was a joke cause the mod would tell you where to run, when, etc. Glad that changed. You don't have to learn every mechanic by name in FF14 because some mechanic telegraphs are always the same effect, no matter the spell name. Red Triangles, find a friend. Eyeball, turn away. And you also don't have to learn every mechanic because the consequence for laziness or just not giving a dam is being res'ed and carried. On noes! It doesn't depend on skill and memory since you can do almost all ff14 content as a sprout, not knowing sweet jack all or looking up anything. Hell you can be a veteran and just forget it all, and you still win. Also the addon's in wow tell you when shit is coming. They do not tell you where to go, or generally what to do. If you're standing in the path of Sludgefist's charge, the mod/weakaura doesn't say so. It just gave you a heads up the event was coming. Again you are referring to something from 14 years ago. For the resurrection topic. In high end, you can just repeat res and get more time on boss. You might screw your chances at killing it but you can go on and see the whole fight, learn it, get used to it. The personal responsibility is not even close to being as high as you're stating. In wow it is way, way more detrimental on most fights to have a death. The dps windows and checks are way, way, way more strict. In wow 1 person fucking up can mean the deaths of the other 19. As for the mp cost, you can snake around that. So many ways to get mana back. Sure it can be bad, but it's doable, raiding guilds in ff14 have proven it. In fact lets limit battle res's in ff14 the way it fucking should be, and lets see how much content gets done. Roulette's would be hilarious. Wipe, wipe, wipe.

i think the difference between difficulty in FFXIV and WoW is: In final fantasy it's harder to learn In wow it's harder to play As far as i've seen in FFXIV it's more of a perfectly performed dance. You need to be accurate down to mm. You learn it all fight after fight Meanwhile in wow even if you know the fight - the random factor of overlapping mechanics will cause a lot of problems that you need to solve on the fly and adapt

To add a detail, in most high end bosses in FF the mechanics of every phase can come in diferent orders and diferent combinations. The not random thing is that we know how many "mechanics combos" we will have to deal with before the next phase but not the content of the combos. For example the newest EX boss on phase 3 will do a "weapon change followed by an elemental attack" 3 times, but the order of the weapons she picks and the elemental attack she does is picked at random. She can pick sword, staff and shield (each one diferent mechanic) and combine them with water, ice or earth (each one diferent mechanic). And inbetween those attacks she will use Aerole (wide room aoe with safe spots at her sides) or lateral Aureole (wide room aoe but safe spot at her front and back). So the point is, we know there's a combo of mechanics coming but we never know the speciphic combo or wich aureole is she going to use before she starts casting and we can read the cast name. All that, of course, gas to be solved super fast with no much time to react after a fuck up. And ofcourse no addon telling you "stay here for safe spot".

@@royox doesnt matter which combinations. They are still same mechanics with same spots on ground you need to stand on. But seems like i dont need to explain it to you, since i feel bias from you and no point discussing with such person.
@royox3 жыл бұрын
@@nemesisVtuber no it's not. But if you think mechanics in FF are just "mechanics with the same spots on floor" you don't understand how FF works so I agree, there's no point in having a discussion. I played both games at the highest level and the mental effort I had to do in FFXIV i never had to do it in WoW where I had to do a rotation based on mashing 1 button till other stuff had a proc and I had to do as DBM would tell.
