In response to the inevitable parallels that will be drawn to Nina keeping Sonny hidden away in Nixon Falls, it’s not the same. Strictly speaking, Jax, out of self-preservation, chose to let people believe he died in the plane crash, and Carly kept his secret. It’s not like Sonny, who was out of control, needed to be cleared of any charges, or that his conscience needed easing! It’s not like she was in touch with Jax, and she certainly wasn’t keeping him from anyone. It’s all on Jax that he didn’t reach out to anyone, once he felt he was out of immediate danger. As for Michael, by his own admission back then, he was a lousy liar, so arguably he was better off not having to keep a secret from his father!

To be fair (and I can't believe I'm defending her because I was livid with her for this, too), she didn't know what Sonny was planning. She was angry when she found out what Sonny did. I think Carly said that she thought he'd pull some strings by getting a judge to side with her over Joss. Carly loved/loves Jax too much to destroy his character. I hope I remember this correctly but I think she even went to Jax and told him that she felt Sonny crossed the line. But he was angry because it was too late for her to realize that. I think he asked her what else would she think asking Sonny for help against him would do? Sonny HAS no lines and will win at any cost.

I think Carly was in the right here, and I usually don't think she is LOL Sonny would have killed Jacks if she said Jacks was still alive. She was protecting him, Josslyn's dad. Heck, if someone were to tell me that my dad were still alive and they'd told me he was dead in order to protect him from someone killing him for real, I'd just be happy that he is alive. And what about that thing she had with Johnny? How is Johnny any better than Sonny? It's so wrong. Or Alexis, she's the worst. She tried to keep Sonny away from Kristina her whole life, as well as Molly, yet she climbed into bed with Jerry, a mass murderer. I just can't stand these women. The way I see it, if the father is mentally sound and is willing to raise that child and wants to love that child, regardless of their business and lifestyle and mistakes of the past, no one has the right to try to take their child away from them, not even the mother. Just because they carried the child, doesn't make them more of a parent.

I am very critical of this actress's interpretation of Carly. In fact, I downright hate it. However, her characterization and the writing were both 100% spot on in this story. Carly did the wrong thing for the right reasons and doesn't regret it. Like she said, standing toe to toe with Sonny: *"What I did was right! And I'd do it again! I may be a liar, but you're still a killer."*

Because he grew up seeing Deke beat his mom. When you grow up in an abusive home you either become an abuser or you go the other way. Sonny saw how wrong it is to hit women. Not that Carly wouldn't deserve it sometimes. Sonny's not like that. Plus, the reason Sonny is so quick to get angry is because he's bipolar. It's a good thing that Sonny takes his meds because if he was a woman beater he could easily kill one. When that rage takes over you don't stop.
