All of her emotions are entwined with Trina's to the point that she bases all of what she does, through her. It's the sign of an unhealthy mind. They need to be the center of attention and if they can't get they throw a fit, or seek other ways of getting it. Case in point; Portia cheating on Taggert. But if you recall, as soon as she became pregnant she said he started loving on her again and was all about her(red flag) It also now raises the question how much did she really care about her baby. Because to me, it sounds like she saw the baby only as a way to hold on to her marriage to Taggert. I m really like this kind of move, it s beautiful to watch, sometimes I m speechless with his actions because these things are unbelievable. With all due respect, these GH Writer's are such cowards. They don't seem to want to commit fully to the love between Spencer and Trina. So what do they do! They create so much chaos and interference for Trina and subject her to so much hardship, that they are hoping that her strong fan base throw up their hands in frustration and accept whatever trauma they put her through, until they slowly phase out the relationship between her and Spencer. From what I can see, they do not want to lose any of the fans (as the fans bring the show great popularity, high level of sponsorship and ratings, and, various other benefits) because the show cannot survive without them. What they seem to be doing is to create an atmosphere and/or environment where they allow Spencer and Trina's love and romance to thrive for a short showing, just long enough to fill the fans with excitement and anticipation, and then pull the rug out from under them, leaving the fans thirsty and wanting for more romantic scenes from Sprina. In order words, the Writer's are playing a cat and mouse game with us in order to keep us on the edge of our seat, while they focus on promoting characters like Esme (whose drugging of Trina could have ended up in her death), who they in fact are forcing upon us steadily ... when they make every other words out of Spencer's mouth to be Esme and Baby Ace, or, when they put lines in Trina's mouth like " I feel sorry for Esme. Ace is all she really has." The writers literally put words in Trina's mouth that are sympathetic to Esme's character because they want us the forgive and forget all the horrible things that Esme has willingly done to Trina, Joss and Cam, with a smile on her face, the whole time that she was engaged in the psychopathic acts against these characters. The writers are using baby Ace to weaken the resolve of the fans until they forgive and accept Esme's actions as insignificant. What kind of message is that to communicate to such a devoted Fandom. It is not only disrespectful, it shows how much the Writer's value the character of Esme over Trina, and how Spencer and Trina's romance is not given the continuous value that it deserves. Esme's drugging of Trina could have ended Trina's life, but yet, the Writer's failed to address the issue in any meaningful way, other than just a mention by Spencer. Instead, every chance they get, they put words in Trina 's mouth to help absolve Esme of her crimes, as if she bores no responsibility for her actions. They use the ruse of all ruse ..amnesia. What kind of message is that sending to the devoted audience who watch the show. Where is the consequences for Esme's crimes! Where is the accountability for Esme's heinous actions! As if the disrespect to the fans is not enough on the issue of Esme, the writers now wants the character who plays Trina's mother to be the latest roadblock to interfere with Spencer and Trina's romance. Is there anyone the writers will not use as an excuse to keep this couple apart. I do not see them doing that to any other couple on the show. These writers are trying to exhaust the audience into acceptance of the status quo. I hope none of the fans fall for this twisted cat and mouse game. Spencer and Trina have more than earned more screen time and they deserve to be given breathing room to allow their romance to blossom naturally, just like any other couple on the show. I am not saying that their love and romance should be smooth sailing all the way (of course every love story has its ups and down), but for this couple, the scale on the down side is dipping so low, even the laws of gravity cannot rectify the situation. Fandom I am asking you to continue to fight to ensure that Sprina's abiding love lives long and prosper and forever endure the test of time. Moreover, please do not allow the Writer's to undermined our intelligence by forcing us to feel sorry for Esme and to disregard the free pass and the lack of accountability that has been bestowed on Esme via amnesia. We demand justice for Trina, Joss and Cam. To continue to normalize Esme's criminal actions is tantamount to a total disrespect of the audience and/or fans. LONG LIVE SPRINA!!!

I mean Esme pissed me off, her actions are so huge how do we feel forget about that?! Not a chance, I want justice for trina and others (Cameron, Joss, Ava). I m tired of bad stories with Esme plays the victim card, I can't buy it amnesia or not. Watching some older Sprina scenes and came across this comment. And it couldn’t have been more right. The writers valued esme over Trina and willing to sacrifice Sprina’s relationship to keep her around. Ultimately, it didn’t work. The fan base has been dedicated and strong. Chris and Dan have been fired. And Avery Pohl was let go. But even in Esme’s apparent death, they still go out of their way to make her sympathetic and diminish her actions. I think I understand why the writers did that, but none of my opinions are favorable, so I’ll leave that be. I have some faith in the new writer, but it’s a waiting game at this point. Fingers crossed that we get some justice for Trina and a fresh take on Sprina’s love story. One that fans don’t have to beg for.

I keep revisiting his conversation Spencer had with Marshall. Who commended him for stepping up to support his brother. But clearly let him know that Trina also needs to be a priority. The writing has been wildly inconsistent. February amazing. March was awful. April we had the Sprina adventure. Now we’re back to baby obsessed Spencer and Trina being a cheerleader for the chaos. They’re wasting Nic and Taby’s talents with this mess. Let them be young and in love and trying to navigate the world.

That's why I keep having this feeling that the Esme and Ace situation is gonna break Sprina up (not permanently). Spencer can be obsessive at times and that's gonna be at the expense of Trina. Trina may seem down for all of it right now bc she's in that honeymoon phase, but she will eventually get tired and may grow resentment over this. It's like Esme is still a main focus for Spencer, while Trina gets scraps (emotionally). Even while Trina's in the middle of getting a DNA test, he's rambling about Esme and his brother. Trina needs to set boundaries and stop saying "it's okay" to everything Spencer does. We need that old Trina back. 😂

@@chitlinjuice First of all, love the name 😂…I agree that a temporary uncoupling could happen. They’ve had such an intense start to their relationship and I could see them staying in cloud 9 for a little while, maybe we get some big romantic milestones (👩🏾‍🤝‍👨🏼+🛏️). Then the reality sets in, a major fight happens, they breakup for a little while…then they reconnect after a few weeks with a new perspective on their relationship and they approach their relationship with more maturity. And yes, Trina is being very soft and accommodating with Spencer right now. I don’t think it’ll stay that way forever. Let’s not forget these two were together for like 20 minutes before their first fight as a couple. My girl will find her backbone lol.

​​​@@nfgc86 It's part of the twin flame phase. They're endgame, but people have to once again keep in mind that we're dealing with two individuals whose parents have emotionally abused them. Portia is the opposite of Nicholas. While she is covert in her narcissism, Nicholas was and is overt in his. Both parents have had damaging effects on their kids. Both Spencer and Trina are empaths in their own way. Trina is very forgiving and is a people pleaser because of Portia's micromanaging, manipulative and guilt tripping behavior. Her living vicariously through her daughter only makes matters worse. Spencer like Trina is very trusting even to those who have mistreated him, example: Victor. Even after Victor tried to kill both he and Trina, he still tried to see the humanity in him. I'll also go back to what TJ said "Spencer is a good guy, he just cares too much". Lastly, I think what we're witnessing is something that was mentioned a couple weeks back about what we will see going forward with Spencer and the term Catharsis came up in the convo. I think rather than go in the direction of negativity in this case regarding the current situation I think Spencer seeking therapy is what needs to happen or a good male figure that can help open his eyes to why he feels so strongly about wanting to have custody of Ace. I think most of us know that a lot of his behavior stems from his childhood and how he was raised. He didn't have a mother, and his father was barely consistent, and so we have a young man who for the most part was raised by boarding schools, but also with some influence and support from his grandmother, some from his Uncle Sonny. All in all Spencer is the best person that he can be, but doesn't mean there can't be improvement. Whatever empathy he has comes from Laura; some say his mom as well. His darker side comes from having an emotionally detached father, but despite that he still wants that connection with his dad; but unfortunately, that is a common factor when you grow up in a household of toxicity. It's only natural to think parents like this will change, but they never do. That being said, I'm looking at everything at this point, because like it or not there's psychological issues with both characters that we have yet to see come out of this ordeal that happened on the Haunted Star. Laura hinted at it while they were on the plane coming back. We might be seeing some of it play out with Spencer as we speak. After coming out of that situation he's wanting to cling to the two people he cares about most: Trina and Ace. Look at it from that perspective. They almost died. He could've died. In my opinion it's not just Ace he's focused on its Trina as well💯

It’s weird how the show just brushes off trauma. I understand Spencer hating having any version of crapme around. She actively attacked people he loves (Trina, Joss, &Cam) and has not had to pay for it. He finds out that he was a tool for her and her dad to use against Nik (which led to two prison stints at the end of the day with him taking the blame for the escalated attacks crapme did-I.e. arson). If there was no Ace, he would be able to easily cut her out of his world. But like Trina said… her being Ace’s mom also makes her his family now 🤮. I wish he was more in control of his dislike for her too, but totally understand that he sees red when he sees her. A lot of horrible memories and experiences are wrapped up in that face.

Portia has a Narcissistic personality so I don't expect her to see her daughter as an individual; only as an extension of herself. She needs to see her daughter as someone who needs her mom and all this does is allow for someone like Portia to be the decision maker in her daughter's life right up until adulthood. This undermines the child's belief within themselves, shrinks their confidence, causes self doubt, and them second guessing themselves leading them to rely heavily on their toxic controlling mother. To her it's a win win. It's gaslighting and manipulation at it's best. It keeps them in control. And if the child goes against this the result is what we see happening with Portia. If the child is an empath(Trina) they are an easy target for someone like Portia to manipulate. And their forgiving nature is what allows them to be taken advantage of. So Spencer being in Trina's life has gotten her out from under her mom's control and allowing her to find who she is outside of her mother's influence. Love this for her. Portia needs to seek a therapist, but, I, for one, don't see this happening. Next best thing for her is a straight jacket👌🏾💯

I think Trina is “happy” in the sense that the job keeps Esme busy and in turn stops her from skipping town with his brother knowing that would result in hurting Spencer. I think she’s just looking at the bigger picture of the situation hence why she isn’t mad and calmed spencer down.

@@YaaAgubyKete I think Trina is playing the long game. If Esme stays in town it’ll be easier to pickup if she’s regained her memories and reverts back to her old ways. So the only thing Trina can do is remain the supporting girlfriend. Plenty of ppl have already told Spencer that Esme is Ace’s mother. But he doesn’t respect her position and authority because he sees her as dangerous. Even if Trina tried to make him see reason he wouldn’t listen. We all know it’s toxic how he’s going about this. But Spencer truly believes what he’s doing is protecting Ace from a monster.

Trina's always been compassionate so this felt true to character. She's obviously not going to sign up to be friends with Esme ever and she clearly doesn't like the broad, but her having some empathy is a very 'her' thing to do.
