I love what the late Jackie Zeman says in the 50th anniversary special. First she remembered the look on Genie's face during the wedding vows. She then concluded that all the decades later even divorced Luke and Laura are always connected and she hoped they would reunite. She spoke as an actor and fan and seemed to understand why they are still ❤️ by millions.

Never heard such loud shouts of joy when they exchanged vows !! Such a power couple !! Luke NEVER gave up on his sincere love for Laura!! He only had eyes for her !! Good old fashion love story !! I was also in college at that time and we all crowded into the Student Union to watch it on the big screen everyone planned their classes around GH. It was such a happy time. We even had refreshments and cake for their wedding. Must have been over a hundred of us in there.

Agree with you, GH today is devoid of families, humor, just awful. This "making love" is shown as LnL doing that EXACTLY. You don't see this tenderness in such depth today. I could go on for hrs talking about these two characters and how long it took for this "night of nights" to finally happen, so beautifully played and written. Nothing like it anywhere these sad days.
