Love, laughter, fairytale moments, dancing, romancing, friendship, tears, chills, thrills, anger, fear, courage, cowardice, The Mob, betrayal, unlikely alliances, sacrifice, twists, turns, Beechers Corners, The Whittakers, their amazingly cozy & welcoming home, their barn, their farm, the chickens and of course *Bessie!!!* I watch the playists from 79 - 80 once a year & once I finish watching the entire 79 - 80 playlist, I take a break for about a week or two and then jump back in & watch all the way through until Luke and Laura's Wedding 💑. What a blast this storyline is to revisit every year. Thank you for all the work you put in to create these playists and clips in order for everyone to watch.

Laura was so radiant in that clip. Her smile was beautiful..and her giggle was adorable. What chemistry they just showed in that scene. Now I must go to sleep...reading all the comments below I'm realizing I do not remember the next couple of episodes so I want to prepare and just leave with the memory of Laura's smile!

When Luke gives her that cigar band in the restaurant it isn't some hokey thing, it's to tell her that to him their night together was a wedding night in his mind and he gave it that kind of weight. He wanted her to know just how committed he was.

I remember my older married sister came into the room during this scene. She smiled and said "I know this looks corny but people do actually do this when they're young." She was talking about her first love when she was a teen. They actually said wedding vows to each other. We were amazed.

We all did. so sad they ended Luke and Laura the way they did. TBH though if they were going to continue portraying Luke as a drunk and with Tracy Q, I was glad when he retired and died in 2022. I have always said Luke isn't Luke without Laura, but Laura is even stronger without Luke. 2023 Laura is the Mayor Of PC, she remembered the code from the 1981 ice princess storyline, she has a husband who treats her like a queen. Laura has her grandchildren Spencer and Charlotte who stay with her, the only thing I would like to see is her kids wake up from the comas and come home.

grumpy oldbob56 Oh, I thought it was perfect that they kept them apart for another year. Laura was able to mature, she lived on her own and had the independence she always wanted. And she needed it because she went from mommy & Rick to daddy Scott. It gave them time to date and to get to know one another better. It also kept us, the audience, coming back for more every day on the edge of our seats. Brilliant writing. . 💞

He reminds me so much of my ex. We had the most amazing awesome connection so I can't help but to think of him with each episode. I find him doing the same gestures, saying the same things. Kinda ironic how we split up. He was in an organization that was evil, but a different kind of organization. A religious cult. Our breakup still traumatizes me.

It's like going back to who he was before Laura, before he knew what love was... or before love seriously complicated his life. His need for those things; money and social status has been one of his primary drives forever!

sussezq Laura was in that too. She was the Miss Perfect Upper Class unattainable girl who would never love him. But she did and there was no money involved but when he wanted to marry her, he began to strive for those things again. She was willing to go to Elm Street but he couldn't accept that easily. I love the scene where he asks her to marry him and there is no ring involved at all. I thought that was great!
