I LOVE THIS SO MUCH and have been enjoying!!! I loved how Luke and Joe Kelly actually did become close during these scenes....and the whole drama surrounding Laura is so great.

I know your question was for Sus, but I'm jumping in too. lol Bobbi jumped in so quick with her response that I'm not sure what Luke was thinking. Ultimately, even through his pain, I think he would have wanted to see Laura. Even if it was to yell at her. He always acted like he didn't want to see anyone, but I think he did. I love when Luke said "The zoo is closed" and Ruby immediately went and invaded his space, cuddling up next to him. LOL. Love Aunt Ruby! ;-)

@dc8058 It's all I can do not to delete that comment... but everything but the perenthesis is so true! This stuff is just too good to be sitting on a shelf someplace. The writers, the actors, the directors, the lighting and make-up, wardrobe people... everyone.. worked SOOOO hard to put out a QUALITY production. It just deserves to be seen. (It really has nothing to do with me!!)

Laura wants to be more responsible and not hide behind her parents, yet she let her mother pick out her clothes and shoes to take to her house LOL. We were probably all very young when this was originally going on (I was 13 0r 14), but now, YEARS later, I admit, Laura WAS only 18. She was still very young. Very young and protected. She was hardly an adult who knew much about real responsibilities.

tammyramey people forget she’d been ripped from the Vining family, sent back and forth..was a run away and rescued from a commune . All before she as 15. David Hamilton, psychiatrist..and married at 17.

Lesley gave birth, was told her child died. Her father had Laura switched at birth to Barbara Vining whose own baby was still born. Amy was birth child, younger than Laura. Lesley's found out her baby was alive..husband helped her find Laura. She eventually fought to get her back. Laura didn't adjust well, would run away from Lesley's and go back to Vinings. She Became troubled from whole experience..ran away from Vinings and joined a cult. Rick/Scott went and found her in NYC. She then decided to live w/ Lesley. Rick adopted her. (Lesley's other husband died) Amy eventually came to live w/ Webbers after Father died.

And back in those days kids didn't grow up as fast as they do these days. People should always bear in mind when watching these clips, about how the world was in those days. Much more different than today.

Thanks sussezq. I thought Jackie Zeman had that line. It's scary that I can remember lines from this show some 30 plus years ago. I just remember laughing out loud when the line was said because it was such Bobbie type comment and very true in Luke's case!

Laura's suitcase saw alot of action, moving to Leslie's, the Miss Star Eyes trips, and the final voyage to the bottom of the sea when Luke packed up her clothes and tossed it off the Haunted Star.

If I am not mistaken wasn't there a scene around this time that when Luke was first meeting with Bobbie he said something like don't look fine to you and Bobbie says I don't know I still you have traces of Laura Baldwinitis. Can who fennecs this back then confirm this ?

Yes, that's what I was saying . . . this is what Luke thinks, but it's his insecurity. There's always been a factor of class between Laura's world and Elm Street and Luke and Bobbie both are sensitive to that. Of course, it's not the case. That's why Laura was freaking out when Amy spoke to the newpaper, because now it LOOKS LIKE she only wants Luke because Scotty left her.

The whole time Laura was on the run with Luke, she couldn't stop thinking about Scotty calling her a tramp. In fact, she held off on sleeping with Luke because of it. The only reason she wouldn't admit anything to the reporters about her relationship with Luke was because she was afraid of being judged. Luke took it as a rejection. When she was down with him, she was there. Now that she's back in her old perfect world, she's done with him.
