@lisah9709 Yes, first with the rape. Then with the keys. I'm not sure it registered with her exactly. I feel Luke understood it, but he was so far gone over her by even the keys incident that he probably didn't want to hope too much that she loved him.

NO their mother died and their father just walked out on them... and they were young.. they went to find Ruby. Ruby was a madam at a brothel. SBobbi just got involved in the then family business to make ends meet. That's how Luke got involved in the mob.. it was money, power and respect.. none of which he had growing up in the slums with the alcoholic Tim Spencer as a father.

Part of him always wanted to be accepted into "high society" (as Emma Lutz would later call it) It is almost as big a need of his as is to be truly loved. He would have settled for Jen here if he could not have Laura. Now look at 2009.... Luke is with Tracy who is VERY much like Jennifer, no?? But if the choice was there; True Love and Laura, or power, money and the "good" things in life...what would he choose this time??? I want to see THAT story play out and hope for the ending we all want!!
