@@Beatles0223 Genie had almost Od. Her brother found her and took her to the hospital. Producers showed up at the hospital and dragged her back to the set and that is when the comment was made that it didn't matter if she died or not that Tony made the show. I think they soon found out when trying to pair Tony with other actresses how wrong they really were. He was never able to capture that magic with anyone else. Funny though, Genie had amazing chemistry with Peter Bergman, who happens to be her favorite leading man, on Y & R. She also had awesome chemistry with Drake Hogestyn on DOL and on GH with Stephen Nichols as Stefan. Genie was the magic, not Tony in my opinion.

What blows me away is that GF was only 17 during this storyline. I don't think any actress today at 17 could pull it off. Why she never got an Emmy until 2007 boggles the mind. She is in the same league as TG if you ask me in terms of acting ability.

But she never told anyone WHO raped her. Scottie did however eventually find out on the day of Luke's wedding to Jennifer Smith.

Luke brings up when she thought she might be pregnant and he thought she might be carrying his child. Laura actually says that she had to deal with the fact that she would rather have Luke be the Father than Scotty. Boy do things change.

remmered Probably. Luke was trying for a short while to make conversation by telling her about what Scotty was saying then what Bobbie was saying. Now they have to face some facts about having sex. It's so interesting how interaction with Luke causes changes in behavior in Laura and they think she is crazy like when he came over to the apartment and Laura flips out about the radio, etc. and then after talking to him she fails to go for the pregnancy test. The others who have no idea what's going on think she is seriously unstable.

Luke came to PC in 1978 and he and Laura became friends and he fell in love with her at first sight and she was attracted to Luke I think it was the way he always spoke to her and listened to her and talked everything out. This was before she even went to work at the disco.What he did was not right but in a friendship like theirs and their feelings I feel there was a lot they both had to deal with and at least they talked about it. Each state can carry out a law in their own way. Some states have chipped away @ Roe V. Wade to the point It’s almost nonexistent in 2020 for women who live there. Depends a lot on who’s in office, that’s why we need to vote for the party that most reflects what we value. In the same way if a law is done away with by the US Supreme Court, an individual state can uphold their own version of the that law! Sorry to carry on, very important subject for me.

Traditional. But this was Gloria Monty changing the playing field, so this is the way the story rolled. IMHO

I would only want Luke to return if he is this Luke who loves Laura so deeply with his heart and soul. I don't want him to come back as the drunk, pathetic loser he became with Tracy Q. I hate how the writers rewrote history to portray Luke as a man who constantly cheated on Laura, even with prostitutes and that Laura allowed it. I hate the way they portrayed him as a man who felt trapped into marriage and family with Laura. He even said he never wanted kids and he never wanted to be Laura's hero. Tracy blamed Laura for turning Luke so dark because she always needed saving. That is not how I remember things at all. So no if they bring back the Luke from 2015 I will stop watching again, because I am loving the new strong independent Laura we have now in 2023.

Random Black Chick The actor that plays Luke (TG) was only supposed to be on the show for a short time. The two actors had a lot of chemistry and the audience loved them, so Luke and Laura was born. Also the storyline was very complicated. A lot of scenes are missing (1978-79) too.

No. This is a common theme in historical romances - the single most popular fiction genre. And in the 1970's they were all the rage. Google "bodice-rippers." This story was a visual version of any one of a thousand similar stories women just love to read and watch. Like Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Dracula, Phantom of the Opera, etc. It's archetypal and speaks to us on an evolutionary level. A man HAS to be dangerous, particularly to us, when we catch him, or taming him means nothing.
