I remember pretending to be sick so I could stay home from school because I did not want to miss a second of L and L's wedding. I was glad I could be part of the 30 million viewers those 2 days back in November 1981. this is the first time I have seen this in 30 yrs. Thanks for the memories!

Skipped my college classes for this. Standing room only in dorm lounges. Everyone was going wild. Didn't know until later we were part of a crowd of 30 million. Amazing moment in TV, soaps, and my college dorm.

Same. Everyone skipped classes that day…men and women. We were packed into my Dorm Lounge to watch. There may or may not have been cocktails lol! People who didn’t watch back then (or weren’t old enough or born yet) cannot possibly fathom what a huge social phenomenon Luke and Laura were.

Here I am watching again! Since starting watching on YT, I have become friends with two or three of the commenters. I have had some fun getting back into watching LnL over the last 4+ years. I have had great discussions with fans, I have met Genie Francis, and I am about to meet Nancy Lee Grahn. Hmmm...maybe I'm getting a little too much into it! But, I watched GH my Senior Year in High School 79-80, through college, and then lost touch with GH around 1986 when my first child was born. I found GH again around 2014-2015 when my kids were grown, had good jobs, and I really didn't need to work much any more. First on the regular screen, and then YT. I was back, catching up for almost 30 years of GH! I graduated with a B.A. in English, and getting into discussions regarding, plot, character shifts, SORASing, and changes in the genre have been a delight! And, I adore Sussezq! She has reconnected me with my fandom, and, in turn, I have found more YT sites, with tons more LnL as a human being can find. There is more that hasn't been posted, but I know it's out there....thank you to all of you who tirelessly watch, post, and upload!

My boss was in college and skipped class to go see the filming of this in Hancock Park in Los Angeles. One of the producers liked how she and her friend looked, so they were invited to be background actors. I keep trying to find her in the footage. She said she was wearing a pink, sleeveless dress.

I can't believe how the writers have wrecked these characters over the years. Absolutely no respect shown for the thoughful writing and heartfelt performances of actors Geary and Francis. There is absolutely no way Luke would have Fluked and killed his parents and neither would Laura marry Scott again. Absolutely no way!

I have Luke, Laura, Lucky and Lulu leaving Port Charles in early 96 right after Laura was released from custody after the Damien Smith murder. And they lived happily ever after. I'll do a Pam Ewing, erase 96+ as a bad dream. lol

I also went and read up on the last 15 years or so storylines for some of the major characters and it seems like the writers had no original idea so they just went and re-tooled the past in such ridiculous ways.

I agree. But the fun in soaps in the 80's turned to the angsty, gritty 90's and we lost a lot of joy in this country. Now unless there is continual suffering of characters they are not "real" enough. I say screw reality and give us back to joy in soaps again. That's what people really want!!

These episodes showing the whole cast intertwined and friends are so much fun! For years now the cast seems to broken up into small groups which IMO, has added to how disjointed the show feels. There's a new daytime executive, Nathan Varni, at ABC who wants to make GH better and more like the old days. He told the writer's to get GF back in the forefront of the show after she was let go last year. I don't think GH will ever be as good as these days, but I'd love it if we could get some of this back.

They could fix things just to end it right. Starting from Luke's days at the disco, to his comment here about the bar, that day on the balcony where he was drinking desperately when Laura returned, every time she wasn't there he used alcohol to cope. He could have an epiphany,in flashbacks, realize his drinking was all bc he still loves her and must have her, so he ditches Tracy, they reunite, then leave together, HEA. Then if GF wants to return he can die in a plane crash sacrificing his life to save her. Works for me!

@@sussezq I lived in a small town and my school was walking distance. All I had to do was walk a half mile down the street, go up the hill, turn left, and walk another half mile to school. The bus would have made too many stops so I just ran home for the wedding

I watched GH once in a while when Richard Simmons had them exercising but I remembered an episode of them being in Kelly's Diner. But, I had every intention of watching the wedding and OOOPS...I forgot to tune in. I started watching like two days after Laura was kidnapped. How's that for timing? I watched it until Sonny/Jason/Carly took over and I got so sick of them. But I watched mostly when Laura would come back on. I lost track and I haven't watched it in over 10 years.
