I did read an interview with Genie saying that the producer(s) at GH considered putting her and Robert together but didn't really explore it further due to the fact that she was leaving. I only read that recently. Doesn't really make sense though.

Meredith Thomas: there was a couple of scenes that he kissed her. Once on the forehead, and I think he must of kissed her unexpectedly on the mouth because Laura acted shocked in the scene. It was two different scenes, but it's the only times I've seen him kiss her. Robert was known for going off script, and I think that was one of the times! It made the scene great!
