The last part leaves one speechless. For me it‘s one of the best scenes of GF and TG, heartrending and absolutely compelling - Lauras inner conflict and desperation and Lukes frustation and chagrin; both sense that perhaps finally the breaking point is reached. At that point of the story it isn‘t a soap anymore but a convincing story of two people whom even the greatest love couldn‘t prevent from growing apart.

Thanks for sharing all these amazing videos especially the ones from the 90's, I watched Luke & Laura when I was a teenager in the 80's, stopped watching when Genie left the first time, tuned back in when she returned in '83 and then stopped and didn't watch again until she returned in '06 for the 25th anniversary so I'm loving watching the stuff from the '90's even though some is sad but such great stuff from Genie, Tony & JJ.

Sonny is a full blown mobster !?! Ruby already told Laura that when she saw Luke having a meeting with Sonny at Kelly's Dinner. And Tiffany told Laura that when she took her to his strip club the night that Lucky was shot. And didn't she already know it when their house was invaded by mobsters and she had to shoot one? Why would she need to find it surprising yet again ?

And Luke always wanted to keep the disco a clean operation. Why would he go back in business with a mobster?

I never knew Luke and Sonny were this close. I've just always seen Jason as his best friend, but I'm glad I'm seeing this. Luke is just as great a friend as Jason.

He's right. In a way. Part of the reason he loves her so much is that she has NEVER judged him. Now all of a sudden, she has put herself on a pedestal high above him. And I hate it for them, because I adore them both.

She thinks that is what a good mother would do. She doesn't judge him when it's just her.. she could care less about her safety. But as a mother of children who can't take care of themselves...she feels differently.. I kind of understood where she was coming from.

Yes! Luke pointed out the fact that Laura was the cause of their first attack.

Also Laura caused Lucky to get shot by being hysterical when Luke met the Russian on the dock, so Lucky felt he had to do something. She is also to blame for Lucky shooting Luke on the porch, she was a nervous wreck and once again forcing Lucky to be the brave one. All Luke did was take out Frank Smith which Laura went home to PC with him for. Laura is one ruined character. They and Genie messed her up to unrepairable states. Probably the reason she gets shelved in a sanitarium.

I can't blame Luke, he is right! Laura is getting on my nerves, too! She can't seem to get off the fence - she doesn't want Luke, she does want Luke, come on! You can't have it both ways and he can't take any more pain.

I was cheering Luke on! How much more can a man take?? I have been there . . . when each persons truth isn’t enough and you can’t get past it . . . I understand him walking away! So frustrating. She knew who Sonny was! What the heck is this shock and awe about with her???

@jimmywaynegirl That was the one thing that was always fantastic about their story, you could always relate to both of them, they were always so real, so human, you didn't take sides, you understood both of their point of view, and their reactions made all the sense in the world knowing their history so well. (...until 2008 anyway.. then I just scratch my head in cofusion! lol)

@1964nickel Love your description of Laura! As Soap kids go, Lucky definitely had it good- I can't believe JJ's been back more than a year and he hasn't had one scene with Aunt Bobbie, there's something so wrong about that.

The only other time I can remember Luke being that angry (showing true anger aside from hurt) was when Nikolas and the story was revealed. Laura felt the difference. Luke never ever spurns her or turns her out - he's the first to plead. But this wasn't being stubborn or proud - this was different because he saw that she didn't want to try. Oh man, was that ever great. I blocked out this whole time on GH. Couldn't deal with it! I would have had the biggest crush on Lucky in school!

One more time..Laura is the strong one. The momma duck protecting her babies. Luke turned it around on her after he gave it away that he knew Sonny was in the mob...big time. Stick to your convictions,Laura. I award "MY EMMY" to both of them!
