There are a lot of moments, especially in later years, where Laura (and also the actress) is getting incredibly on my nerves, to say the least, but then there are others where I find her absolutley enchanting. It‘s not just her external beauty (although an important part), but her whole aura she radiates as Laura in her best moments, a unique mixture of sensuality, vibrancy and emotionality, fragility and toughness at the same time, combined with a no-nonsense attitude and intellectual independence, and on top of all that a pinch of quirkiness, all of which makes her so mesmerizing. One sees the potential in GF, she‘s not just a pretty face and it‘s a pity, as with TG, that she never really did get the chance to leave daytime television behind.

GF was offered the mermaid part in the movie "Splash" but turned it down. The movie became a huge hit and probably would have given her the career she wanted. What does that say about her judgement?

I disagree. She’s protecting her children it’s what he promised her when they got rid of Frank Smith. It’s called compromise. There was no reason for a relationship with Sonny. Except for the story of course.
