The Maya hate is insane. She is literally in shock. Im pretty sure nurses don't sign up to get shot at and watch their friends get shot. That would be a lot for anyone especially just an intern at that so yes it is excusable! It's called trauma. Oh and before you say anything Caroline does have experience in the field if you know her history of how she came on... Olivia has seen enough gun shots and been around enough to know how to help out. Yes Maya is a nurse but she's also just been through a traumatic event herself involving friends at that so that should he a pass and ahe should be trained on critical response in the case of a hostile emergency situation.

Well I don't think it's necessarily as simple as if he never hit Kiefer, Kiefer never would've hit Kristina. It's more about teaching how to manage his temper. If he didn't teach effective coping mechanisms on how to handle stress, anger, and such, he might learn it from someone else. So on that point, I'll have to disagree somewhat. It's really about teaching and having the tools to learn to deal with stress and difficult emotions, as well as practicing them. These maladaptive behaviors doesn't always start from the parent. And children are curious by nature. They're going to experiment. As for Warren, we also don't know where or how he learned the behavior. It's possible he also got it from his parents or someone he saw acting out of anger. It's also possible he taught himself the behavior out of a need to somehow deal with his own temper. Overall, it comes down to whether the individual has the tools to deal with difficult emotions or practices applying them.

Keep in mind that his mind was not fully matured yet, so what you're suggesting is probably off the table. You also have to keep in mind the consequences Kiefer could face from his father for defiance. His father is still physically stronger than him. And emotionally intimidating. How are you really going to ask someone like Kiefer, in his position, to defy his father? That kind of courage doesn't just come from nowhere. The chances of him being courageous are just not great.
