Being a teacher myself, it annoys me when teachers don't want kids to use the bathroom! It's only because of the few who don't want to be in class and play around and get in trouble

In Europe that is quite common. I live in Denmark, and you learn 3 just in mandatory schooling (danish, english and german/french) Some will, in high school, pick up a 4. language. I took a course with a Zimbabwian dude, who spoke 7 languages. Including something called Xhosa, which he would often use as a party-trick as it involves clicking your tongue instead of certain letters.

Lots of sentences just fell off the lines. He didn’t mind, he always said he’d been told he had the voice of an Angel and knew he had a soothing effect. 😂 Still got an A+ somehow.

@karlijnlike4lane
@karlijnlike4lane 3 жыл бұрын
that is a challenge at first. what I'm having trouble with now are the vowel sounds: a and o look different but sound the same, english "short 'o'"; e is not e but "-ye-"; I can't hear the difference between the 2 backwards-N "i" sounds; and there are entirely separate individual symbols for vowel diphthongs that we just pile letters together for. "bI"? "yrh,"i guess? & I've studied a bunch of languages, including hebrew which is an entirely different writing system, so i don't know why these vowels are stumping me.

@@rodrigosalazar9831 right they all go back to phoenician, but there's a split in development after that between roman and greek. the latin system went where Rome went, and the greek system followed the byzantine christian missions to the slavs.
