Thank you for your efforts and preview. Can you compare All-intra codec vs BRAW shooting in low light at iso 6400 and just below? I really love shooting underwater video with my GH5s with no artificial lights while maxing ISO at 6400. I was wondering if there is an advantage for BRAW in such scenario.

Spectacular! Dang, GH5S footage never looked better. The detail and realism is phenomenal. Any chance you could do some properly exposed indoor footage so we can see if BRAW can recover what would usually be overexposed/clipped out of the window shots? Or even some dynamic range tests to see if BRAW gets more DR than Panasonic's VLog-L. Thanks for the great footage!
Hi! Very nice showcase. Can you tell me why you used 1/60 ss, instead of ordinary 180 degree? (1/120)? Was that some purpose behind? Thank you

What does recording in braw gives you in GH5s? May You change ISO or WB in post production?

12bit color and expose adjustment. You can shift the white balance in post but can't change the iso so its best you shoot at the native ISO settings 400 for low and 2500 iso for high.

@@clarke.inverary Where do you edit? I have the same equipment and I can not change the iso or white balance in the RAW tab in DaVinci Resolve...

@@farbafilms1946 I have the GH5s and record BRAW with the 7 inch blackmagic video assist HDR. Like I said before you can not change the ISO only the exposure and you can't shift the white balance in davinci resolve unfortunately. I have sent Blackmagic design a message about this, and I hope they get around to fixing this issue, as you can change the white balance on the S5 and S1H.

@@clarke.inverary Out of curiosity, is white balance correction really that big a deal as a practical matter? I haven't found that the GH5S misses the white balance more than a couple hundred degrees, at most. The only time I've really needed it is when I've manually had the white balance set and went from outdoors to indoors and forgot to reset it... I understand that, technically, any RAW codec should allow for white balance adjustment in post. But I've always been able to adjust the white balance with the Temperature control to get it right in Resolve. My main use for a RAW codec is to get more dynamic range out of the GH5S than I can get out of VLog-L. ISO adjustment in post would be another nice feature, though Resolve doesn't seem to support it right now. I have a 7" Ninja Atomos recorder (doesn't support ProRes RAW) and have been looking at the Blackmagic equivalent, but have heard that the Video Assist has a noticeable magenta cast on the screen (recorded video is fine). Have you noticed this?

@@GlueFactoryBJJ Hi thank you for the message. "Out of curiosity, is white balance correction really that big a deal as a practical matter? I haven't found that the GH5S misses the white balance more than a couple hundred degrees, at most." Yes because Braw is meant to allow for it, it’s extremely frustrating knowing that it’s there but not accessible, I like that you can manually white balance correct through the color wheels tab however it does take longer. "The only time I've really needed it is when I've manually had the white balance set and went from outdoors to indoors and forgot to reset it..." This is one occasion where it would be extremely useful. "I understand that, technically, any RAW codec should allow for white balance adjustment in post. But I've always been able to adjust the white balance with the Temperature control to get it right in Resolve." Correct my main use for a RAW codec is to get more dynamic range out of the GH5S than I can get out of VLog-L. ISO adjustment in post would be another nice feature, though Resolve doesn't seem to support it right now. "This is very true more dynamic range and better color is a must, i don't really care about ISO adjustment as we have exposure adjustment, I don't think iso adjustment will ever be available because the way the Panasonic cameras have fixed ISO values. "I have a 7" Ninja Atomos recorder (doesn't support ProRes RAW) and have been looking at the Blackmagic equivalent, but have heard that the Video Assist has a noticeable magenta cast on the screen (recorded video is fine). Have you noticed this?" I Have the Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR 7", i record BRAW, the magenta shift isn't that bad on the bigger unit even if it is there, I have never used the 5" version so i don't know, but what I do know is the magenta issue is Hit or miss depending on the Unit you get, which seems to be down to poor quality control. Anyway i hope this helps, if you have any more questions feel free to ask. kind regards, Clarke
