Ishq mujh ko na sahi wehshat hi sahi Meri wehshat teri shuhrat hi sahi Ghalib's beloved mocks Ghalib's natural, wild and mad love and compares Ghalib with her urbane, affluent and cultured lovers. Ghalib tells her, that if they adore you, it's because they came to know about you through my madness.

Hum bhi dushman to nahi hain apnay......Ghair ko tujh saay muhabbat hi sahi When Ghalib's beloved complained to Ghalib by praising the deep love of the outsider for her, Ghalib replies that how could i be enemy of myself, meaning, i myself is breathing through your love. Is it possible for me to withhold my beath and kill myself. Means it is not possible that i hadn't love for you but on the contrary much greater love than the love of the outsider.
