In the central areas of accra, you get water from Ghana Water Company and you get billed monthly. And you either pay at one of their offices, at certain banks or through their app. It’s mostly in the outskirts that people have boreholes, I think because Ghana Water is either really unreliable in those areas or they’re not present at all. As for the Polytanks (it’s the common brand of water tank we have here) everyone has them, whether you get water from Ghana water or not, cos sometimes they shut off the water for maintenance or to fix a burst pipe or something.

Everyone having to watch the same shows on different cable boxes in different rooms is the way cable used to be when it first came out. Nobody could watch anything differently even if they had cable hooked up in different rooms. DSTV shouldn't still have that archaic option.

@@redcurtain6851 UR welcome, I should clarify though you can get a monthly service from MTN only where you pay at the end of the month. The other networks only allow monthly payment for established corporations with a certain revenue threshold. However with MTNs postpaid service, you have to deposit a sum with them (in case you default) and obviously your service will be cut off I think 5 days after the due date if you fail to make payment.

@nyscorner8064 жыл бұрын
Greetings sis! Thanks so much for all your support, there are ways to make money here in Ghana you just have to find them lol. I will be posting a video soon talking to different people here from the diaspora that have business and means to make money. My mom and I work online and we are resume writers, we acquired that job before we left. So you can make it work. MUCH LOVE!!
@kwasiglobal42864 жыл бұрын
It depends on your skill set. I'd say diasporans coming to Ghana should know what they want to do because the wages are not comparable to what pertains in the States. For instance, a taxi driver in the states may make about 3x what one would make in Ghana. However, some other professions may earn you wages close to what is in the States. That said, opportunities abound in Ghana since the market is not as developed. It's all about coming down with a plan.

With the gas situation it is better to have a spare tank , so whenever you run out of gas you can replace it with the spare.
@nyscorner8064 жыл бұрын
Hey! That has ran across our minds before the problem is storing gas could be a possible safety hazard without it being in a special container or tank to store the gas. We have not found one here yet, do you know of any containers or tanks here like that we can purchase?
@roberteshun13764 жыл бұрын
@@nyscorner806 I haven't lived in ghana in a long time so am sorry am not able to tell you where you can get one. however bk in ghana we always had a spare. The container is the same as the original one you probably using in your kitchen. To be pricise same as the one you showed in your video with the gentleman pushing towards the gas station. You just need two of that, one in use and the other as spare.

So it seems like the cost of living is relatively cheap, but how much money does the average person make? This is good information!
@nyscorner8064 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Etta, I'm glad you found it informative! It is cheaper compared to American dollars but Ghana is not the most cheapest country here on the continent, when you live here for a while you have to look at your money in Ghana Cedis and that money adds up lol. But according to our friends we have met here the average Ghanaian makes between 300 to 400 Cedis a month which is $52 to $69 a month.
@antitonysmith4 жыл бұрын
Ny's Corner oh wow. Would that imply that Ghana is a very impoverished country? I’m sure it’s rich in culture and other things, but now I’m wondering are there wage gaps? Pay inequality? Or not so much? I’m so used to America, now I’m wondering if other countries have similar experiences.
@nyscorner8064 жыл бұрын
Don't get me wrong lol. I would not say that it is impoverished you have some nice parts of Ghana as well. You have people here who have money too, it depends on your reality and your circumstances. There is poverty all over the world even in America lol. Of course it seems like not that much in American dollars but in Ghana Cedis it can stretch. I think it is really important to show all parts of Africa because coming from a western point of view we have been fed all kind of negative propaganda about Africa as a whole and there are a lot of beautiful, scenic places here not just in Ghana but all over the African continent. I can definitely understand being curious about other countries if you have never been there, I know I was lol. That's why I feel it is important to make these videos to show all sides.
@nyscorner8064 жыл бұрын
To answer your question about wages and inequality, do you mean in terms of gender, race, educational background...?
