Legally do you know what an African is! Look at it from a international law prospective! You need to find your tribe if you are Ashanti, Igbo then that is what you are not African! The word Africa and African are a more recent jargon and a slender to take power away from the indigenous population! Find your tribe and represent it not the construct of Africa, that does not hold the power over the tribes! The name Africa was the Roman land Tunisia and grew as lands got conquered and name is fairly recent comparing them to Igbo which cultures have pottery dating past 2500 bc! At least say you are from alkebulan the original name of that land mass! Much love to everyone that means well!

I’m British born Ghanaian, when my uncles came to visit from Ghana I took them to eat at all different restaurants just for the experience. The Jamaican food they absolutely loved and couldn’t get enough of it. They feel the same way I do about it - it’s the same, but different. I love it when I go to Ghana and I see all tourists from West Indies and America finally come back home.

Jamaica is an Ashanti words "Gyama yaka" meaning "perhaps we are left here". That was the same comment our forefather made when the British left them over there. So we are one people. Since there is no valid evidence to support it, i consider it as a myth yet there is an iota of truth in every rumour.

I am Jamaican, and another huge similarity that exist between the two countries is the languages. The twi (Akan) and Jamaican Creole (patwah) are much more similar to each other than either Ghanaians or Jamaicans realize. The similarities are not just in a few words as you may be lead to believe but in sentence structure, articles, pronouns, etc... I know all this from speaking Patwa, and learning Twi. The similarities are so striking that learning Twi as a native Jamaican is fairly easy for me. If you are really aware of the pure patwah of my grandfather and grandmother days, you may be shocked by how similar it is to Twi. Historically, it seems the people bought to Jamaica were mainly Twi speakers but were forced to adopt a foreign European language which was not part of their vernacular and they shaped, and reshaped Twi with English to create Patwah. Example: English: How are you? I am doing fine. Twi: Wo ho te sen? me ho ye. Patwa: A wo yaa seh? me deh ya.
