I have heard so much about langarwali dal. Perhaps the mindset with which it is made and served adda to its extra taste. Which dal did you use her chef? Looks like Urad whole gram? The black one? I have not used it in cooking so far. I always thought it is rather sticky. Should we roast it before washing?

Lobia masala 1/2cup lobia 1 cup water 1/4 tsp mustard seeds 1/4tsp hing Ginger, garlic, green chilly finely chopped each 1 tsp 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 1tsp chilly powder 1/2 tsp Cummin powder 1 tsp coriander powder 1/2 cup tomato chopped 1 table spoon jaggery powder 1tsp lime juice , salt to taste 1/2 tsp garam masala Method 1 /2 cup lobia wash and soak for 4 hours. In a cooker add lobia and ,salt and 1 cup water and pressure cook for 2 whistles In a pan heat 1 tsp oil add mustard seeds, hing add finely chopped Ginger, garlic and green chillies saute well add turmeric powder, chilly powder Coriander powder, cumin powder and saute well add chopped tomato 1/ 2 cup salt to taste and saute well add powder jaggery 1 table spoon and add the cooked lobia with water cover and cook till the oil separates switch off the stove and the lemon juice and garam masala mix well lobia masala is ready to serve.
