17:30 The movie you're thinking of is Malignant. Also, Jenifer was made in to a Masters of Horror episode directed by Dario Argento. I'm sure people here already know this stuff though.

ED AND JIM....if you get a few seconds...PLEASE tell me your thoughts on what I am about to post. To me, it feels like almost every artist from EC that ISNT Jack Davis tend to get the short end of the stick when it comes to recognition. Graham Ingles was one of my favorites growing up and collecting the reprints. I revisiit the issues almost every 2 years or so, and plan to give these to my kids eventually. His work is so.....wet and slippery? He could really draw things rotting quite well, and had a nack for drawing things near swamps or bodies of water........if that makes any sense. One of his stories...I believe it was "Horror We? How's Bayou?"...Is a prime example of that....at least to me. He even used a few stills from the 3rd silent version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, made in 1920 and starring John Barrymore. If you look at the hunchback character he created, in several panels, the character is drawn from scenes of Barrymore's Hyde transformation. He sort of changes it up throughout the story, but for the most part, it is glaringly obvious...ESPECIALLY to monster kids, readears of Famous Monsters, and various other film magazines. FM didn't come out till 1958, not long after EC stopped making these types of comics. So Graham couldn't have gotten it from Forry Ackerman. However, He could have definitely found such stills in other film magazines prevalent during that time. I also believe it was once considered lost, and all that remained were programs and stills from the film. interesting side note.....Barrymore claimed he used no make up in his perfromance at all. While it looks as if that maybe slightly true for the initial transformation from Jekyll to Hyde, as well as various other senes, it becomes pretty clear that he DID upon viewing the whole film and observing the stills. Dont get me wrong. he definitely contorted his faCE AND body in some pretty drastic and unsettling ways. But there were obvious appliances used for Hyde's teeeth, head, fingers, and nose at some points. It just looks pretty creepy regardless. ok. Back to the story. Graham used the images in what is regarded as one of his best strips. I think at one point it was brought up either to him, or to fans after he passed away. Many were saying it was "plagiarism" of some sort. I tend not to think so. Even if he did in fact know it was, it did nothing to hinder the estate, image, or legacy of the film OR Mr. Barrymore. And i personally don't think it should hinder Mr/ Ingles's story, career, or legacy, either. It was basically an inspiration post script.....it also shouldnt be far fetched to think a horror comic would look to horror film or literature for inspiration, either. Besides....Jekyll/Hyde story is public domain, and many people didn't think that silent cinema would every see the light of day again, let alone be viewed and sought after many years later. Ok...im done rambling. Ingles was amazing, and I love this channel for delving in to the art and history of all the offbeat comics i loved as a small kid.

I’m taking “the drip” back from the kids. It can only refer to those slimy-ass EC zombies from here on out.

Truly a unique genius, it’s such a shame that he got out of comics.

Can anyone give me a list of African American comic book artists that specialize in Dark Horror and Gory drawings? I was wondering if there are any with a similar style as Bernie Wrightson or Graham Ingels. Thanks in advance.

Ed Piskor who narrates this video committed suicide after his reputation was destroyed by a couple of Karens who accused him of sexual harassment. He was an amazing comic book artist. It is so sad what happened to him.
