Just stumbled on this and I think it's beautiful. Outdoors in your community with friends and family plus you save money. I know a couple that spent 35000 dollars on their wedding only to get divorced 2 years later. For those wondering how they were able to close the street, you can get a permit for that. As long as its not a major street the city will allow you to close the block for special events.

You can block a street for anything. You just have to go to the city hall in your community and give the date and time and as long as its not a main vain street or near a hospital it can be blocked. Streets are blocked all the time for block parties and stuff.

They found a creative way to have a wedding without breaking the bank. Who wants to go broke planning a wedding? Also, it was a great day to have an outdoor wedding. There was no rain and it didn't appear to be overly hot outside. I didn't care too much for the cellphone cameras in almost everyone's hands nor did I care for the underdressed people, but at least everyone was happy and enjoying themselves.
