Its not the same as the 18th Century either, where Hackney was were a lot of French Hublot's went to. Also, the Head of the Bank of England once had a townhouse in Hackney and also had a lot of bankers working in the city 100 years back. Part of life is accepting that nothing is constantly, everything changes and is constantly flowing (like a stream). I mean, Whitechapel was a Polish area 100 years ago, Clerkenwell was Italian, now they're not.

A great video!! Love the evocative music and all the images of these various estates.. some of them do look quite attractive when you have trees around them - it's the big, unsightly, soulless concrete high rise blocks that make it a living hell for people.. I've lived in London and having seen these estates all over the city, it speaks many volumes when you see images of young children playing in the streets and makes you think that they are completely unaware of the social impact.

There are poor and deprived areas in London and the surrounding counties, but there are no ghettos. Thankfully we have a social support system that has been around since 1948, which denys anyone from living real poverty like they do in other parts of the world.

London in these days early 2000s it just had this very darker and gloomy feeling, modern architecture and nice apartments for the rich has made the areas "more easy on the eye". They use to have no Control, maintenance on the flats never done for years playgrounds covered in spray paint. Definitely was more dangerous back then people would just rob civilians anything no one gave a fuck back then. Some of the states of blocks I use to live in/ visit, piss puddles in the corners rizzla sheets everywhere stinks of weed, some times even smell crack. The sound of 2t gileras everywhere. Londons image has changed alot its not as gritty looking as it use to be.

Deadliest London boroughs in the last 10 years 2005 - 2015 1. Lambeth 96 2. Newham 80 3. Hackney 62 4 = Southwark 60 4 = Ealing 60 6. Croydon 58 7. Lewisham 55 8. Brent 54 9. Enfield 52 10. Haringey 51 11 = Camden 49 11 = Waltham Forest 49 13. Islington 47 14. Tower Hamlets 46 Obviously you need to take population into consideration and types of homicides. Ealing may be joint 4th but no doubt Southwark saw more gang-related homicides, whereas Ealing might have seen a rash of domestic cases.

Newham and Southwark have seen the sharpest declines. Lambeth saw the highest in 2008 with 23. Camden saw 21 in 2005. Hackney saw 20 in 2003 (but not included on this list).

Listen hear now I’m from west London and in London it ain’t about what colour u are I grew up on an estate/project housing for Americans and all my friends are mixed I have 80%black 10%white and 10% Asian London ain’t what they portray it on tv I’ve grown up around shootings stabbing my friends doing life in prison or killed I remember playing out at like 10 years old and my mum always telling not to go down the ally’s cos of crackheads and the needles they leave on the floor I even went down there once and see a girl dead on the floor cos she took a overdose back then it’s just normal to see but as I grew up I realised that it wasn’t right for kids to grow up in places like this and then they blame teenagers for the stabbing and killing it don’t make senses in some way I’m glad that they are demolishing these places even tho they are our homes something got to be dun since they demolished my estate it has change abit obviously some crime is still there but it’s a lot more cleaner and abit safe for kids to go out and not have to worry about a crazy crackhead chasing them down the street. I really do hope London gets better for the children to many young kids are expose to things they should have never seen and for the people in the comments saying London isn’t that bad come walk a day in my shoes and it won’t take long for u to get back on that plane back to your nice country.pray for London/uk🙏🏻🙏🏻

How about you live in one of those houses or flats, and try putting up with properties that are falling apart and neglect from the Council and Central Government on a day to day basis. Try being able to provide for a family of four on £600 a month. Try to keep your cool while never being able to find a job because the Governmnet puts banks before YOU. That's all. Not difficult to survive life in England is it?
