Never heard of these, very familiar with the Kelly kettle though. Looks like a very versatile and reasonably priced bit of kit and it's absolutely fantastic that it's not made in China, as so many of these kind of products are. Nice that it's aluminium too as it does give it an element of portability.

I have a Kelly kettle which is the same thing and I love it! I have the base camp model and It boils 1.5L of water in under 5 minutes from the time the fire gets started, that is as fast or faster than any camp stove on the market!

combine this with a regular rocket stove and it would absolutely slap- it’s like an extended chimney for the rocket stove. that way you can cook on the rocket stove as well rather than trying to use the griddle on small amount of coals. EDIT: ok the cook pot stand on top of the kettle does what I was hoping it would do that’s pretty awesome

Thanks! Yep it has an attachment to allow cooking on the chimney to be done best wishes friend 👍🏽😎

I don't have this brand, I use the kelly, but either is a fantastic bit of kit, as far as I'm concerned the simplicity and versatility of these biomass/rocket kettle-stoves will outlast every other type of stove, a good bung (never used when boiling for risk of explosion) also makes it a good canteen for water transport.

I've got the largest Kelly kettle in stainless steel with all the accessories like yours. I've had mine for around 10 years. Mine has a silicone stopper instead of the whistling metal one. I wish I had the option for one like yours. Another downside of mine is they used aluminum rivets and the two different metals don't work well together and now I have to watch how much water I put in it because it leaks around the rivets. If I would of known that to begin with I would have saved some money and bought the aluminum version. I like your split grill over my one piece. So just a bit of advice for anyone if you get the stainless steel version of either kettle make sure the rivets are the same material. I hope this helps someone. God bless and stay safe. Hope you and the Mrs. have a great weekend.

Hi Andy and Wendy 😇, thanks for the review mate, boil time was realy quick, impressive, if I were buying one I'd go for a s/s version as weight is not a problem as it would live in the car, like you I wouldn't want to backpack this around, but it's a great water boiler, and could make a simple meal as well. Stay safe both of you, Best wishes, Stuart, Megan UK.

Thanks again brother! Yep it’s boil time is impressive! Great bit of kit for two in the woods for a weekend or so, definitely wouldn’t consider it as a survival item, it’s not so much the weight but the bulk of it. Thanks very much again mate! Wishing you and Megan health and happiness! 👍🏽👍🏽😎

Hey mate. Even though I'm not a big fan of this style of stove, you did a very quality review. I completely agree with you for the need to establish the 🔥 before placing the dice on top. I do the same with the KK under normal circumstances but switched things up a bit for the KK fans to do things their way to demonstrate that their tips are not that solid. I enjoyed this.

Really you can begin heating the water immediately, once there's a little fire going you can just feed a few twigs at a time down through the chimney, no need to have coals established. You may have seen people over feeding the fire and smothering it early on.

I would like to make a couple of points, as a Kelly Kettle user, regarding your method of operation of the kettle. Please regard as constructive criticism. Your method of lifting the kettle on an off the base is positively dangerous. NEVER put your hands directly over the flue as you did.......even with gloves on. Always hold the handle with both hands at 90 degrees from the kettle to place and remove it on/off the base. This can be done without gloves as your hands will not be above the flue. Thus you do not have tho be quick in doing this. This is shown in many other videos/demonstrations and is certainly shown in the Kelly Kettle instructions. You do not need to wait until the fire is down to embers before placing the kettle on the base. Once the fire is established the kettle can be put on the immediately. This acts like a rocket stove with intense heat coming from the top of the flue very quickly. Hence my first point regarding lifting the kettle on and off the base. Lastly, when giving instructions or demonstrating it is most important to follow makers instructions. These are not recommendations but are specific instructions for safe use. Many followers/subscribers hang on to every word so it has to be right. As I said, do please take this as constructive criticism.
