Playing Prison Break With Randoms In 2022 Was a Big Mistake... (GTA Online)

I still remember, 2 years ago, I started the Act 3 of Doomsday Heist, on hard difficulty, with 3 randoms, none of them were high levels, but somehow, something magical was happening. A mystical synergy between 4 mute heisters was allowing us to progress through the whole thing, without anyone dying once. Each person was aware of their skills and limits, making the silent cooperation flawless AND dynamic. From what I though would be a painful challenge, quickly became one of the best memories in my GTA Online experience. I'm telling this story to let everyone know, that, sometimes, all you need is faith.

They can be unpredictable. I was trying to help some players under rank 200 do Cayo Perico. I was almost done stealth killing all of the guards when one of them shot the juggernaut. He instantly aimbot minigunned me. Instead of the remaining player committing suicide to retry, they left the compound. After about 15 minuets one of them made to the boat died with the panther statue. 10 minuets later the last guy died trying to get it, so we started with alarms going off and half empty bags.

As a guy who have been playing this game for 8 years, of course Prison Break is a piece of cake to me but I like revisiting it sometimes, and see how the beginners play the game. In my opinion this is the most team-oriented mission in the entire GTA Online because everyone was given a specific role. Once you have failed, the entire thing needs to restart, it might be frustrating at first but the intense atmosphere never gets old, and it is fun.

Had that happen once. He saw the cut scene for Rashkovsky taking over the plane and went to get a piece of chicken. Slammed straight into the water and we failed. "Getting a piece of chicken" became our personal meme for screwing up the heist near the end, since 3 of us were friends with 1 random.

Working with randoms for any of these old heists is always a gamble. Last Night, I tried to play The Humane Labs Heist because I was in a generous mood. Heist leader gave me the job of Pilot and even rode over to the chopper in my Draugr. Everything seemed to be going according to plan, he and the other guy got the stuff and showed up on the beach as it was supposed to happen. I work my way down, touch down on the sand PERFECTLY. They got on board, I began the takeoff.... when the gunner jumped out of his seat and parachuted to the beach. I tried to get down to pick him up but the Merriweather buzzards were already on us. Managed to fight them off with just the miniguns and we shot them all down. All we had to do was land to pick up the Gunner. I was ten seconds away from touching down again when he just... leaves the Heist! After that, the leader invited me back, took a dive out of his own cut so I could get 25% and put me with him on the ground team. Long story short the randoms got shot down by the Buzzards as soon as we managed go get to the beach. **URGH**

I had a similar experience with prison break randoms. We got all the way past the cutscene where rashkovsky takes the plane and everyone else jumps out. Then the host's IRL FRIEND quit the heist! Literally a minute or 2 away from finishing! The host tried to invite me back but I just closed app instead.

If someone leaves or gets booted off in the middle of the heist then it should continue on and divide the cut between 3 players . It shouldn't end just because of one player left. But then that would require reworking the whole script since the the original heists were designed with 4 people in mind.

Doing any heist with randoms it doesn’t matter if it’s the 2015 ones Keio Periko, or even the casino or doomsday. It is a pain in the ass and a nightmare to do with randoms. That’s the reason most people are stuck on prison break and in my honest opinion, my face and randoms has dwindled significantly so that’s the reason that the heists at the apartment the planning board is covered in dust, and even the planning board at the facility it’s been disconnected from the power in it is now covered in dust

One of my memorable foul ups for the Prison Break finale, was waiting long enough for everyone to board the plane, and for whatever reason Rashkovsky stood off to the side on the runway, and I started taking off without him. The heist member in the prisoner role dove out the plane, but died trying to get Rashkovsky to follow him. I still have a video up on KZbin, including a slow motion R*Editor clip of the prisoner jumping from the plane and doing a bellyflop on the runway.

Almost every time I failed the prison break heist it was because someone didn’t know how to fly the plane. Whenever I do the prison break heist with friends or randoms I always need to be the one to fly the plane because I’m the only one that can fly it without getting shot down or crashing it before getting to the prison and landing it to catch rashkovsky. All you have to do is drive to the plane, start it up and fly it to the prison and go in circles to avoid the missiles until roshkovsky gets out the prison

Oddly enough nothing gets me more than when the pilot or demolitions gets in the car with someone on the prison team,second is the pilot flying over the prison and getting shot down.

I've probably had to deal with this same stuff over hundreds of times. This heist made me definitely stop playing for a bit because of how bad it was. I tell the pilot to follow the jet on idol so they don't get blown up. But the best by far is when they drop to their death at the end or get sliced up by the buzzard.

Top main reasons why I find it very difficult to find random players to do heists with, and why they quit and bail out. 1. The payout sucks. And most of the time they think the leader should give them a bigger cut. 2. Setups are long and boring to do. There is no flexibility in completing them in multiple different ways. And you can't skip the long rides unless everyone has completed them once. And even then nobody skips them anyway. 3. Only the leader can skip the cutscenes. All players can't vote to skip the long cutscenes. Something that is great in RDO 4. Players are inexperienced and usually don't like being a certain role such as flying the painfully slow as snails Velum and flying around in circles dodging enemy jets.

Casino heist is arguably even worse, especially the stealth approach. Randoms never do keycards, and dont know how to use the stun gun and to slap the guards to instantly kill them. You end up having to hack almost every door, and pray to get ahead so you can stealth kill everyone before someone screws up

When I was doing the Humane Labs Raid a level 13 joined. He was so good that we even did the EMP delivery mission first try. The whole heist went smoothly. Turns out he was a level 260 on PS4 and started again on Xbox. Absolute legend. The next heist he couldn't join sadly and the saw mill mission was pure pain but thankfully the heist was smooth again. All in all it's doable but I don't want to do them again. Also mad respect for putting on Tears during the plane section

I ran into the worst/best mod griefer doing Prison Break a few months ago. I was shocked and appalled that I *died* on the mission, given I have run it hundreds of times no problem. Then, I died again. And again. I thought I was just having the most off day of my life, said screw it, and brought my Toreador into the courtyard: Halfway through the mission a random security guard blew up the Toreador with a pistol. It was then I realized that a modder was randomly spiking NPC damage to "blow up cars" level. At least I felt vindicated for my prior failures.

i've had a guy run in FRONT of the blade of the Velum for no reason. I've had a guy who used a rocket launcher near the prison bus (he was trying to shoot the police car which was right NEXT TO IT) and I've had multiple people left or disconnect right before we completed a setup. I have memories of the humane labs setup when it first came out, the one where you have to stealth and not alert the monkeys or whatever haha, that shit took me a few days to complete. It gave me PTSD and last time i tried it i just hang back at spawn and let the other players complete it as i dont want to be the reason it fails lol

Any heist that isn't cayo perico is torture. This form of torture should become illegal. I'll list the problems of each heist. Fleeca score: Apparently everyone spends an entirety on the hacking minigame even on the setup. Prison break: "the velum has been destroyed" "your teammate left" "(insert teammate name) has died (even on easy mode)" Need i say more? Humane labs: Deliver EMP. Nuff said. Series A heist: Poor payout and no one likes to join it also teammates die a lot and leave near instantly Pacific standard: Your teammates die soo much that you'll owe the bank money by the time you complete the heist Doomsday heist: Too difficult even for the most experienced players. Those juggernauts are way too brutal to fight. Diamond casino: in my experience a lot of bugs and soft locks and it also wants you to play with at least 1 teammate so yeah....... Cayo perico: with experience it goes smoothly and with no problems (as long as the "coca cola" is in a good location) but sometimes you'll be hit with a "go to Merryweather HQ" which is the bane of my existence. Thankfully i own guided missiles on my sub so i can insta fail the mission and get a different one. Im very happy that the cayo perico heist is a solo friendly heist and has a great payout. Literally the best heist in the game.

I recently uploaded a clip where I was doing Prison Break with randoms as the pilot. To save time, I did a speed running strategy and landed the Velum right outside the prison. The idiots drove straight past me and headed to the airfield! 🙄 I had to fly over to them and when I landed, the prison officer started shooting the cops and he ran straight into the Velum’s blades! Just trying to do this shit back then was okay enough, but now it is genuinely mind-breaking. Level +400's that just use the lobby as a way to get out of pvp, Level 200's that don't actually give a shit and troll or just bait you into going into the prep screen and then leave, Level 70's that either might be like me that are also just trying to get this shit done or are also just fuckin around, level 30's and 40's that don't know what they're doing, and audacious ass level 10's. One particular level 10 didn't like that I owned my own car, and didn't like that I was driving it, so he shot every single car along the freeway, got the cops on us, which led to a fatal misallocation of not enough fucks given to not give even a slight thought to a restart. I disagree Ghillie - NEVER give the lowest level person the pilot role. The reason is they don't know how to dodge the jets, and half the time they'd lose control trying to dodge them. Secondly if they crash it's a restart from scratch as you know. Where this heist goes wrong regularly is at the airfield where the Professor and the team are meant to get into velum. Most newbies don't know what to do there or they do a bad job, and then someone gets killed by the NPCs. I'd argue it's best to give the prisoner role to the newbie and have a skilled player as Prison Officer. The Prison Officer if proficient could do most of the damage and the newbie prisoner can just follow most of the way in the prison yard.

Shoot I had to learn how to pilot during the heist. I had a full team and the pilot player kept on crashing. So I said screw it and started putting myself as pilot and taught myself the controls. It was scuffed, I flew with the landing gear out, but I learned. The problem was now the ground team kept on dying. Keep in mind it was on medium and there was 1 extra life.
