It really depends. Tastebuds vary. Some people may find the food tasty and others not so much. This is an old area where many people used to live and one of the more well-known hawker centres back then. Lots of people will go back to a place to eat out of nostalgia and bring their families along when they have their own children. Sadly, prices are indeed getting more expensive everywhere due to inflation
