Am really amazed at these hawkers who have so much pride in delivering high quality authentic foods, enjoyment under consistent high levels of stress. Being self employed and the nature of their work, it isn't possible to go on holidays or have long weeks of rest. Even when they retire, they'll be so bored which is a stress on it's own, plus missing all the razzmatazz. PPuggy you have highlighted this unique amazing hawker culture of Singapore, well done👍

Yeah Catherine.. it’s almost like they’ve dedicated their whole life and being into their vocation. Never ever took holidays.. life is ground hog day each and every day.. all for the sake of feeding their own families.. till date.. I’ve seen many old stall owners who refuses to increase their prices. Like the Kopi man at Amoy.. I asked why is he still selling his Kopi at 90cents.. he told me he already increased 10cents.. omg.. these are old school hawkers. We should send them some love now and then

This video clip although quite long @ 45mins but featured only 7 popular stalls incl. 1 deserts & 1 beverage; some of the individual stall footage could do w/a shorter editing of the cooking process (eg waiting for the foods to cook in real time) so that we could have around a dozen stalls in d same time frame of 45mins or the same 7 stalls @ around half an hour or so... nevertheless an excel- lent F&B coverage worthy of the Iconic S'porean Heartlander's food scenes. Well done!

There are lots of food videos in Singapore and Malaysia. Likely because there is so much variety of great food in these countries. In the US, we got introduced to Singapore food and culture by that Crazy Rich Asian movie couple years ago. What separates your channel from most of the rest are...stability, clarity, detail and most of all interesting and often humorous musings. It adds a good degree of entertainment. You are very blessed with so much great and very affordable food. Relatively, these type food here cost around usd12 each, not usd3 there. USD base incomes are comparable. In Malaysia it might cost usd2, but incomes are quite a bit lower. Thanks for the great effort.

So many cctv around this hawker centre. Many weird characters here and in groups. Behavior like gangster. Some of the hawkers very nosey , want to know whether you are married, what is your job , where you live . They want to dig your privacy once you become a regular. When you refuse to answer , they start to gossip behind you and start rumours about you. Some become very unfriendly and rude. Some think they are rich cos biz too good. Start to look down on regular patrons.
