Similar to the entry of "real" Upper Moon 6 in Demon Slayer with Tengen. He doesn't let the demon appear, chit chat, and then fight. He wanted to end the demon even if it meant attacking while it was weak. Oh, and when he did make an entry and it seemed like he had a speech; he already delivered the necessary attack.

In a sense, she did introduce herself. She does this later on as well more formally during the first turning point, prior to the incident, but by displaying that sword, one of eight, she is introducing herself as one of the 8 kings of the sword god style. Although, it might be a bit fast for them to register since Longsword of Light skill is pretty fast.

It can't be stated enough on how well *written* the choreography to this fight is. Every action has a purpose and matches the personality of the character. Rudeus is clever, he exploits weaknesses when he sees them and tries to hit when people aren't expecting it. That being said, he's also overconfident, often getting himself into situations where he underestimates an opponent that is 2:31 literally one step behind him. More often than not, the stickiest situations he gets out of purely by luck!

the only slight would be cut content giving additional details, context and character thoughts had it not be cut/skipped. But that happens with pretty much every anime. Some things are always trimmed to fit time constraints even if they were actually important for character/plot development. the youtuber aninews does a good job of breaking it all down in their cut content videos.

This is one of the few anime I've seen where during the battles, the characters don't have these long winded internal thoughts detailing their next moves that are just a bore to read/watch. It's just straight, smart action for the viewer and its so refreshing to see. Wish more anime would go this route.

I really liked how this showed that swordsmanship isn't useless compared to magic like in most stories. Just like how rudeus is very skilled in magic. A swordsman can just as easily beat him in a fight. I love it.

Everyone is saying how good the animation is and all that, but one thing I've noticed is that even the two thugs have their own characteristic. The bald one often gets humiliated, is dumb, incompetent, and somewhat has anger issues. While the other guy is calm, smart, and just more competent. You can see all that when they we're trying to open up the door that Rudy locked with his earth magic and also in this fight. The tougher guy instantly learned to slice the bullet instead of blocking it so it wouldn't create smoke while on the other hand the bald guy got his nuts broken into pieces.

Except it gives more of an impression of force. You know that if that magic hits you you will definitely feel it. MHA has great moments of emotional peaks that make you sit on the edge of your seat (United States of smash for example) but art and animation wise Bones doesn't even compare to the talent adapting Mushoku Tensei

One of my favorite scenes just because it shows how real this show can be. People don't get knocked out by a sword strike, and it CERTAINLY is not a clean, or easy to look at picture afterwards. And Rudeus's reaction after really shows how a real ordinary person would perceive people dying in front of them for the first time.

2:25, when Rudeus made this another projectile, I assume it is the same projectile that he threw at them that exploded some kind of powder when cut. The enemy with the sword skills knew exactly what that projectile would do so he cut precisely therefore the surprise on Rudeus' face. I like it when the enemies have real power and thinking logic. Props to the animation team/director/author for giving this so much thought.

@@АльбионФармер Not really. The majority of mages in that series have to chant incantations that take time. Long enough that a swordsman would have no problem killing them. Rudeus is a rare case of being able to use magic without incantations.

@@valenten89i know, but if we talk about tactic and strategy, melee combat (spear, claws also) can not surpass mage. Rudeus still op cus he have modern science and "200:0" combination of spell/sword talents instead of normal variations of 100, but Laplass or Sylphiette can easy beat melee combat from range, when the strongest melee (and strongerest creature at all) use magic also, to close melee combat flaws.

In general mages are inferior in combat unless they have a front line to protect them while they cast. It is kinda shown in the OVA that without Eris toying with the goblins Cliff would have been attacked and possibly killed while chanting that ridiculously long chant for his fire spell. Keep in mind Cliff is a good mage as well just cant use voiceless like most other mages.

But they can cast spells from a very big range, work in teams or be a strategic weapon (even mid-skilled mage can destroy a village whis one or 2 spells). Also maybe they can kite? I dont know about speed of normal mages, cus theme of their eneregy is not introduced in anime now.
