It’s rather relevant to note that early AKMs produced in Soviet arsenals (Izhevsk and Tula) didn’t typically have the slant muzzle brake until maybe 1964-1965. They also didn’t have a bakelite pistol grip, typically using laminated wood pistol grips similar to the AK47. Stocks also always had side-mounted sling swivels until very late production (production of AKMs in the Soviet Union ceased in 1977, these last ones would’ve had the side-mounted sling swivel that was made standard on the AK74). The earlier GHK AKMs ofc had side-mounted swivels on the stock. It is more accurate to have them mounted on the bottom, which they did with the new version (also the phosphated receiver finish is more accurate for a Soviet AKM, instead of being blued).

That is just... sad. I had the V3 on my wishlist until I started reading about the issues. A steel frame that was twisted and rebent with your bare hands? On top of the other issues, so much for the hype. VFC has a great opportunity for a good show with their AK-74MN GBBR offering. Hope you also will do a review of that once it's out. For now, I'm enjoying my TM AKM. A gbbr so reliable OOTB I felt like I made it worse by putting stuff on and in it lol.

I am really disappointed with ghk, how can they release a new version which is worse than the previous one, and to make.matters worse, judging by ghks response, they are not even acknowledging all the issues which for me gives me no hope with their future aks or other products for that matter . Looking forward to vfc's Ak. But for time being i think the TM Akm is best on the market.

Feeling so lucky that i keep the V2 with full steel W&S update and ishmash wood kit. Graped a pre-owned V3 from the second hand market, found that the front sight block is banded to the right obviously, it gone back to the second hand market again immediately. There is no lack of reason why you can find a good price pre-owned V3 in the market so easy. Stay tuned for the VFC ak series, hoping that they will make the AKM too. And all i am going to say about the V3 is "BLYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT".

To be honest, tons of real AKs have tilted front sights or barrels in the reciever. It's a cheap stuff. It's supposed to shoot, not look perfect. I was actually working several years in a company producing parts for real AKMS rifles and yepp, it's anything but precision... So all the tilted sights, wiggly parts and all the OCD triggers are honestly accurate to the real deal. If your real AK is perfectly straight and everything is perfectly angeled, you are a lucky owner of a exceptionally well made AK. Thanks for the video btw, I always enjoy your reviews. Keep going!

What you describe is an issue with cheap American knock-offs from people who don't care about making a good product and just want to shovel as much shit out the door as fast as possible to make the most money. There's no shortage of well-made AK's out there, even from American producers (even those who just rebuild parts kits instead of building everything from scratch), it only appears like the cheap shit is normal because most people expect an AK to be cheap Communist garbage and so they're less willing to spend money on a properly-built one. Century is probably the most well-known of the "cheap, mass-produced garbage" brands, and it's also the one most people are familiar with. Because again, they were cheap. I bought a Zastava M70B1 18 years ago before they all started getting names like ZPAP, NPAP, etc. To this day it is still one of the best-built guns I own, even though later imports assembled by less-than-stellar importers (when they started calling them various iterations of "PAP") tarnished their reputation.

I only had origianl russian made AKs in my hands plus some licenced that were made in serbia, poland, hungary and other eastern european countries. Some people believe that the original soviet AK is a peak of perfection but that's actually not true. I believe you can get a better made AK made on the US civilan market. Those built for the red army are actually cheap mass produced garbage rifles that are just good enough but far far away from being made for perfectionist. I don't want to argue, just wanted to point this out. Again, great video but complains about tilted front sight blocks, ugly rivets or not perfectly aligned barrels in the receivers, those are all things that are present on the real ones (originals) too. No one cares if your front sight windage adjustment is maxed out. If its zeroed, it's all you need if you serve in russia (and many more countries).

Very disapointing. How GHK did not manage to fix qc problems in 4+ years at this point is just shameful. GHK borked up a massive chance there. LCT also has qc problems seemingly, but at a lower price. Also interesting that seemingly GHK stopped furniture cooperation with LCT.

Looks like GHK really shot themselves in the foot with this one. Guess I'll have to wait for VFC to start making AK's again, their AK AEGs had the best externals on the market over a decade ago, hopefully they still remember how to make a quality AK now that they've gotten into making GBBRs. They already had outstanding externals and it seems with their GBBR releases they're figuring out how to make a good GBBR, here's hoping they can combine those two qualities.

I know a few guys who use GHK AKs and most the news/feedback is not good. Personally I have a WE Tech AK 74 UN and it kicks like a horse as the bolt is full travel and out of the box it dead accurate. Aside from the stock hammer breaking and replacing the entire trigger set with a RA tech steel set, it works. My only big issue is how brittle the plastic mag shells are and how easily they can break. I did find a 3D print option online to print better and strong mags shells. Please try do a review on the WE Tech AK 74UN

⁠@@VR-ke9wcas far as I know the WE version has full bolt travel and if you lube it with decent lube, the fire rate is sweet. The price the WE AK is selling for (out of the box) I did no upgrades to make it skirmish worthy, it performs well. Cold weather the bold could be sluggish but Nurpol black gas is a simple fix, in my opinion the WE AK is by far under sold, under valued. Another thing to add is you could beef it up to a more modern AK with 5KU furniture.

@@VR-ke9wc The WE AK line in my opinion is on a PTS level. I have had my WE AK for almost 13 years and the only thing that broke was the hammer due to a jumpy fire selector (bending it is a simple fix so it does not move while firing) I replaced the trigger set with a RA trigger set and now she singing again. If you looking for an “out of box” performing AK with a fantastic shooting experience (the bolt is full travel). Because the bolt is full travel, in winter you could get a sluggish bolt - you could get a Dynamic Recoil Buffer which is a part you just install - takes 5 seconds but you would only get half travel = better gas efficiency or just use higher PSI gas. In summer it runs/screams and all the other airsofters on the field pull face at how loud it is and also I would get a line of guys wanting to shoot it and every time they shoot it they are amazed at the recoil and shooting experience. My only issue with WE AKs is that the plastic mags are a bit brittle - you could 3D print mags with better material or just buy the metal WE AK Banana mags. You could also blast it out of the Cold War era into the modern with 5KU furniture. I highly recommend the WE AK line - they reliable and the “out of the box” shooting experience is just brilliant

@@LukaBEET the QBZ191 is just a Chinese army paintball gun converted to shoot bbs. It will not revolutionize anything and it’s not something they developed anyway. It has a niche but it’s fairly minimal. Lack or realistic action/manual of arms/design so it won’t appeal to crowds that want realism. It will basically be a blowback AEG that’s more expensive and needs a hose. I think it will be fun but it’s been done before and isn’t going to capture a large market. Also a since it’s just a conversion there’s a good chance E&L will never put in the money and dev time to make the system for different guns, since they didn’t design it in the first place, so quite likely stuck only having one fairly obscure Chinese gun.

I have an old deactivated 1963 AKM (sadly can't own the real deal where I live), and it does actually have a different finish on every stamped part. The dust cover is far shinier than the lower receiver, etc. I'm not saying the matching finish of the replica isn't a problem, just saying the real thing has inconsistencies on this front too.

Very very good review, great work, really! I have the Marui AKM with a real wood kit, i was interested for testing and buying a GHK AKM, and it’s not a good idea... The QC is non-existent at GHK ; and the price is expensive for what it is, because yes, you have the shipping cost, but customs too (i live in France so...) at the final, it’s at least more than 650 $ Unaceptable, enven for a 100% steel AK with all these issues...!!! It’s not because "it’s 100% steel" that this shity QC is excusable, i prefer good quality "pot metal" rather than bad steel as this GHK AKM. The GHK "steel" receiver and parts seems to be low quality steel, the general external quality is so bad, this is really not a gun with good shooting performances and efficiency, i will keep my VFC M733, TM M4A1 MWS and TM AKM, no GHK for me, now or in the future. And when i see the GHK answer on FB, it made me laugh, they take no responsability, for them, these QC issues are only "isolated incidents" 😂 Come on GHK... I have some VFC AEG AK’s, except VFC, no Airsoft manufacter make AK’s with grey rear sight, like the Russian made AK’s and with a glossy phosphated paint, i really love my VFC AK’s when i see this GHK 😅 I’m really looking forward for the AK74M GBBR from VFC, this GHK AKM V3 is a great excuse for buying a TM AKM or the next VFC AK74M, or just another GBBR !

This review finaly made me give up ghk as a whole company. Especialy the part with bending reciver by hand, I have AEG ak from e&l, the cheper version for around 300$, I have hit with it a wall and I was worried about a hole in a wall not the rifle becouse it was completly fine. If i were to do it with ghk for around 700-800$ (delivery to europe +3 mags) I would have a replica in pices or at least a funny bended reciver. I still hunt and gather money for my first gbbr, and I consider a lot of options (vfc m4, m110, g3, hk53, we m14, tm ak and a lot more), and my favorite changes quite often. For now I like tm akm gbb, it lack steel and have miled reciver, but I don't mind it becouse it can and will fire in every weather on green gas, I also live in Poland, where geting a real full auto ak is cheper then gbbr, and I have access to good metal workshop so I consider fitting a lot of rs parts on it. Maybe even stamped reciver if i menage to make it or fit aeg one with a lot of work to shorten it and make pins stay in corect place. I also think about converting it into rpk, it would be fun with so efficient full auto in every temperature. Genraly, thanks for another dependable and very good quality reviev.

I had the V2 version and it was still a pain in the ass. The feeding ramp broke on every third mag. Until I replaced it with an alloy one. it was fun WHEN it worked. But hell if you do such poor craftmanship outside of airsoft, the people would beat the shit out of you and sue you for this shit.
