GHK G5 Review - All plastic sucks?

This is a toy replica, not a real firearm.
The GHK G5 is great, and I love it. The only thing it's missing is adjustable power output.

Try the screw mod, it's not that invasive as you said, and works pretty good, been using it like that for almost 3 years, just so you know, the hop up chamber, as is made out of plastic, likes to break with double feeds, so be ready to change it, maple leaf hop up chamber it's a nice option.

6:18 agree 100%. Holding the bb in place in battery position and ejecting the bb when wracking the bolt back is a supper nice qol feature if intentional

I've already done 2 npas screw mods on ghk nozzles (1 on the G5 and 1 on an M4) and they work great, you can adjust the Joules pretty easily, just use an M3 std x 6 mm grub screw and it won't interfere while cycling the gun, even completelly outside the nozzle. It's an easy and cheap method to fine tune the Joules.

I really like the g5. Very crisp and high kick gun, because the weight of the gun is low. I had this epoxy type of velocity adjustment in my ghk akm. Never hade a problem with it. Stay in place. Better than an npas

I don't know why, but in this video you look a LOT like Josh Charles from the S.W.A.T. movie with Colin Farrell. Specifically in the scene where he and Colin compete on the S.W.A.T. target range, he wears similar sunglasses in it and it's almost distracting how much you remind me of him here. 😎 Anyway, great vid, as usual. 😉👍

Happy G5 user :D In fact, I have 2 of them, one short for arena on 1,5J and 2nd as a DMR with DMR kit for it. Both shoot excelent, both a bit moddified (Poseidon GBB Barrels). One great thing about this rifle and that is something you didn't mention, you can get original replacement for any part that breaks. From tinies screw up to the charging handle or body replacements :)

my first airsoft rifle, there's kits to increase barrel length and handguard length to 12inch and 16 inch. dont like the folding stock? comes with an adapter to use your own non-folding stocks too an issue is the bolt is never machined well so you have to file it down a little.. other than that its a beast. I also own the WE kac pdw (8inch version) and yeah its similar but the ghk isn't as hot as the WE and GHK is alot higher quality. cool video man i hope to see more like this "in the field" type stuff!

the receiver breaking is still a pretty big issue unfortunately, which is why i switched to the ghk m4. if only someone made a cnc receiver

I am still mad that Ratech after all these years STILL doesnt make their npas from the m4 line available for the aug, the g5 and the 553. screw mod works but it aint pretty. But tbh its about damn time ghk produces these npas nozzles themself.

Strangely enough, I do not experience the issue/feature of the bb falling out. mine stays in and I've had many instances of double-feeding.

Probably bio bbs but a few 6mm bbs is the least concerning being dumped in the sea.

I've heard both the GHK G5 and the WE KAC PDW are pretty good GBBRs and some people may find it a stupid reason not to buy them, but to *me* the G5 is not close _enough_ to the scoprion and the KAC PDW, well it exists IRL but nobody uses it.

Nothing wrong with all polymer AS LONG AS, its reinforced polymer! I have a JG (Golden Eagle) M4 Mk12 RIS full length barrel for DMR use. It's my first GBBR, have always been AEG on rifles but years of experience with GBBP (WE Tech primarily M9's And Hi-capa 2011A1's) The build quality is amazing for a Chinese moderately priced GBBRs. Mine does feel like a partial metal GBBR, others that have shot it keep looking at it keep saying which parts are metal? Nothing except inside and the buffer tube. I shoot .43 g BBs as a DMR, and get 350fps. I am American Bohemian 2nd gen, speak Cheska and Geman. Where did you learn such excellent English?

Usually 1.7 to 3.3J. or no limit for some games.

I wanted to get a WE M4 but I'm scared of the issues, the wobble and everything else, bit on the other hand it's an affordable AR. Now with this being only little more expensive (except for the mags bruh) it's kinda tempting me, the polymer body scares me a little and the trigger being kinda meh, and the fact that it does not have a bolt hold open and release. The carbine conversions aren't to be found anywhere which is a shame because that one actually looks good. Now I'm very torn on which one to get. I guess the WE isn't really worth it compared to GHK.

If you want toget a budget GBBR try to get a VFC.

It absolutely has a bolt hold and release...it's the charging handle on the side that you see him racking, like a mp5. There is a big community of people that machine parts and make 3d printed parts for any replacements you might need. I will say though any OEM parts, while usually cheap, generally are only found from an Asian company, so if you're in the US/Canada and need a part fast, it's gonna take quite the time (and shipping is never cheap, sometimes paying 3x the amount in shipping than what the product actually costs lol). None the less, the bolt catch is there and functions flawlessly on an empty mag (and you can do the mp5 slap with the handle lmao)

Bad? The GHK g5 is specifically designed to be used in airsoft games instead of justing looking realistic for LARPing, unlike most Taiwanese GBBRs. It is far form bad.

I guess we are just going to ignore the fact that the lowers break stupid fast, pot metal fcg, garbage ass hop up, trash feed lips that split like every other ghk with filing them... There are so many better options at the price level compared to a g5

​@OP Airsoft Gotta say, through 3 years so far, I haven't had any issues with what you mentioned. Researching prior to buying led me to just do the epoxy mod on the receiver like he mentioned in the video. Cheap and easy fix. The only real problem I've noted with it was the plastic charging handle it comes with likes to snap off...got some aluminum ones online for cheap and replaced it easily and problem solved. To each their own I suppose.
