I bought one earlier this year. After about 2000 BBs thorough it, the gun won't cycle. The trigger causes a release of gas but the bolt doesn't move and the BB doesn't leave the barrel. Tried lubricating everything but no change. Any ideas? Tried it with multiple mags, didn't make a difference.

Odd that you’ve missed out the Tokyo Marui MWS. I own GHK, but my MWS is more accurate, reliable and consistent. Lots of aftermarket support there as well. I think you’re missing out.
@JosefMucha1003 жыл бұрын
yeah I completely forgot about that one. I've tried it before and it seemed like a quite complex system. It does shoot well but I just didn't feel attracted to it mostly because it looked like a nightmare to repair. Can you expand on this please? I'm curious to hear your opinion.
@jaysonsladen97563 жыл бұрын
Yes, the MWS is typical Japanese ‘over engineering’, meaning it’ll run like it’s designed to do for a very long time. It took TM a while to develop and release their take on a GBBR AR, and I do not think they have compromised on what their core design goals were. Yes the trigger is a little mushy, but lots of real steel triggers can be mushy, and I quickly got used to the MWS. The build quality feels Japanese, the way it operates feels Japanese, and the price feels Japanese (not too expensive, not too cheap) - it’s like the Toyota of GBBR’s. My Devilhunter modded GHK AK74 is great fun, but it doesn’t have the panel gap, paintwork, gear change or long service gap schedule of my MWS. Why would I buy a Zongshen or Hyundai when I can get the QC of Yamaha or Honda? My GHK cost about the same as my MWS, but I had to take it apart and rebuild it properly myself before I could use it. The MWS just works out of the box, and takes a licking and keeps on ticking...
@delta-wd4gg3 жыл бұрын
@@JosefMucha100 Not much to repair on the MWS, to be honest. The trigger box is more complex than a more traditional AR-15 style you see on other platforms, but it's rock solid reliable, which means you will never have to get in there to repair anything, and it is a huge part of why the system is gas-efficient and able to run reliably on HFC-134a and weaker gases here in Japan (which is moving away from 134a in exchange for slightly weaker gases that have several times less greenhouse effect). The parts most likely to fail are as follows: - recoil buffer (on green gas, this plastic and spring-loaded part has a tendency to break due to the increased rearward force of the bolt, realistically it should be made of a more shock-resistant nylon polymer) - bolt catch lever (not so much a failure as a timing issue caused by using stronger gas than HFC-134a in warm weather, and experienced by the TM GBB MP7 as well -- sometimes last round hold-open function doesn't work due to the faster cycling under higher pressure. This can be remedied easily in several ways such as unscrewing the buffer tube by 1 turn, which indicates the timing is off by just a smidge, alternatively by using a heavier aftermarket recoil buffer to slow down the timing or filing down the bolt catch lever -- which is spring-loaded, to reduce wear on itself and the bolt!) - hopup bucking (just wears out over time, as any bucking does, but involves disassembly of the upper receiver from the handguard and barrel to get to the hopup unit) - nozzle (as with any decent GBB gun, the nozzle is a designed failure point to preserve other parts, and disassembling the bolt in order to access the nozzle isn't too complicated -- however, I do wish TM used a slightly more durable material, but that would defeat the purpose of a designed failure point) Aluminum, Cerakoted receivers and "Made in Japan" quality help make the MWS a very excellent and reliable platform. The only two things I dislike about it is that the trigger is not as crisp as a GHK, and that whole nonsense with the popularity of the "Green Gas magazine mod" as propagated by another KZbinr that has left people thinking that running an MWS on green gas requires a lot of work... Anyways I've ranted long enough, I can go on but maybe you should get your hands on any of the TM M4 GBBRs, and if you are planning to run it on green gas, just buy a spare buffer in advance, and be mindful under warm weather that you might want to prepare for the bolt catch issue. Feel free to DM me on IG about the MWS! Edit: about NPAS and adjustable velocity, I'm personally not a fan of adjustable systems, but Orga makes an adjustable flute valve that fits the MWS, and G&P also makes solid flute valves with varying levels of output, so you're covered if you really want to tune your MWS on the fly. I'd advise upgrading the inner barrel first since most TM M4s will have an inner barrel that is much shorter than the outer barrel, so you can make gains on the FPS just by changing inner barrels. Also, you mentioned in your video that the better trigger mech of the VFC are reliable and allow for better gas efficiency than the WE, but the TM system, being designed specifically for airsoft, is probably closer to ideal than a more faithful reproduction of an AR-15 trigger box and buffer. The "hammer" has a steel roller and gets out of the way of the bolt much faster than a regular-sized AR-15 hammer, and the lightweight plastic buffer has a secondary recoil spring that helps send the bolt forward. The faster the hammer resets and gets out of the way of the bolt, the faster your gas is cut off, after all, and the less resistance that hammer gives, the better.

@@delta-wd4gg I'm actually one of those people who don't like the MWS because the things it is better at than its competitors aren't that important to me. The shooting performance and consistency of the guns are near identical when modded to the tits with a well thought out hop and barrel set up. I have 2 newer VFC ARs and a GHK V2, all pretty heavily modded and have played with a few of my friends MWS rifles a good couple of times... the fanboyism is sort of getting old from both sides though, the MWS is a great rifle if I had no other choice personally, but I'll stick with my GHKs and VFCs....i'm cycling a Zparts steel bolt on green gas fairly easily on my HK416 as well on the stock nozzle...fast ROF Full auto...as well as the fact my SR16 has a steel bolt from the factory from VFC and it cycles quite fast too. Maybe not quite as fast as a MWS, but still consistent for a full mag dump. The VFC definitely has the most realistic (out of our mentioned entry high end airsoft brands here)FCG as well in feel design and construction to a real AR. A lot of real steel budget ARs wished it had triggers that felt that good. Your statements kind of confusing, how its not like a real AR15 with the hammer roller so it ends up being more realistic.....which old 1st gen VFC ARs had, but the FCG in those were total trash and kept breaking hence the new forged ones they been using since the 416 probably...not saying the MWS breaks for that design choice, clearly not, but I look for realism first for my collection, and most of the things you've mentioned on the MWS are why I wouldn't get it over more of the others personally. I totally agree he should check out the MWS before he makes a decision and a video like this though lol
@delta-wd4gg3 жыл бұрын
@@Rawdawgggg you misunderstand, I'm saying a gas blowback system like the MWS which is purpose built for airsoft would have the potential to be better for gas efficiency and reliability than a real steel-style FCG, provided that sufficient R&D is done to optimize that system. I never said it was more realistic in that sense.

I also have the WE MP5, that came with a lot of problems from airsoftpro, most of them related to the mags and that thing is mostly a warm weather gun. And finally I also have the WE Mk17, that has a known problem with not feeding, with a known solution. I did it from the first moment and didn't have a problem with it since. Runs even in a cold spring day, although it's power output drops and consumes a lot of green gas. I've never actually tried it with anything stronger. Parts avilability is king. No matter how expensive a GBBR is, it will break, they are design to break and be easily repaired. Real guns break as well. It depends on where you are. If you can't see any parts for sell in your region, no matter how good that gun is, don't buy it. Because even if a smallest part break you will be in trouble. If parts are widely avaliable, even if they have known issues, you know where to buy parts, you know how to work on them, that runs the long way. In most part of the world it seems WE and Tokyo Marui has better parts avilablity.

That's one thing that kind of aggravates me about air soft youtubers in air softers in general is that most guns in real life don't have super nice finishes. You're conflating your fantasy with the reality of what an actual finish on a firearm is. Sorry, old video but I was kind of looking for this exact video. I think I've heard you mention once that you didn't like RA Tech products? I've seen they make quite a nice looking NPAS with custom bolt options for the GHK models. I wasn't aware that VFC rifles came with a NPAS included. Is this just certain models or do they just do that with most of their products?

Man i wish i had seen this video sooner then i would have gotten a GHK instead, but w/e i got an WE M4 CQBR as my first GBBR and modified it into an "upgraded" carbine M/96 (danish m4 basically a C8 carbine) and im pretty happy with it, though i haven't fielded it yet, since i had covid when it arrived, so i have just spend a small fortune on functional parts and cosmetics and made a few test shots. The recoil in these things are awesome! I might sell my AEG's and fully commit to GBBR's instead.

I find from my personal experience that VFC and GHK produce the highest quality guns, once you buy from vfc in the $500 range you get quality. ghk is a bit more quality, but you pay 200€ more for it. ghk uses more steel and vfc less steel and more aluminum. All in all, there's never anything against aluminum, because it's still better than plastic, as long as it's not military standard plastic. Aircraft aluminum is used in the high-quality models from vfc and ghk, at least as far as the handguard rail is concerned. Ultimately it is important that the important parts are replaced with steel and as long as that is done all is well. As far as pistols are concerned, vfc is also of the highest quality, as is the case with rifles, ghk is of course a little better. As far as fitting is concerned, vfc and ghk are milspec, which means you can definitely use real gun parts without any problems and you rarely have to do any rework
@Kab9223 жыл бұрын
GHK actually has a gbbr called g5 wich is ergonomically similar to the scorpion evo and has kac internals. It's fairly cheap and the only mayor issue is that the recivers tend to break however there are a lot of diy method to fix that.
@JosefMucha1003 жыл бұрын
I'm aware of the G5. I would prefer pistol caliber magazines instead of AR15 mags because of the width. For a GBBR it would make sense to have thinner mags and put more on your belt so that's why I would like to see Scorpion Evo instead. ALso it looks a bit nicer IMO.
@WolfMan-nf4lv3 жыл бұрын
The receivers I hear only break when they’re shot with the stock folded.
@Kab9223 жыл бұрын
@@WolfMan-nf4lv As i heard from many g5 users if u use a strong gas in hot weather it can break if it's not reinforced.
@Kab9223 жыл бұрын
I agree with it however ghk m4 mags have far better cooldown resistanceand and gas efficiency than thin smg mags. To add you can use the same mags for you m4 (if you buy one in the future) and the ghk pmags are very light. I know that the g5 isn't an actuall replica and looks a bit weird but performacevise it's one of the best gbbrs.
@stoneglobe48793 жыл бұрын
I'm personally a big fan of the G5 because it's light and manoeuvrable, a very big plus for me, as well as being a fairly cheap entry into GBBRs, though the mags are definitely pricey. It also has 2 separate conversion kits (carbine & DMR) which allow you to effectively have 3 different rifles for a similar cost to a single rifle as well as coming with the stock adaptor meaning that you can create some unique and interesting builds. The fact it uses the M4 mags is both good and bad. It's good because I really like the GHK M4 mags and if you do decide to also get an AR15 platform from them at a later date you have compatible mags but it's bad because the G5 is really a PCC/SMG and it would be great to have more "realistic" mags for it. Having said that I do think it's a great training weapon for those who do use the Scorpion Evo in real steel even if the mags aren't the same. In summary for me it's difficult to beat the G5 as an entry level platform into GBBRs and I ran one for years before stopping playing. Now that I'm looking to start again I'm most likely to get another G5 to use as my primary.

@周生生-f1f2 жыл бұрын
wouldn't recommend WE SCAR simply was an extremely old gun that has structural problems, but not much good things about VFC either
@radejet3 жыл бұрын
Definitely will recommended WE GBBR, reason is that they are affordable, and that there cheap to repair, external is decent (good I like it) internal is good built, but with the parts in Triger case that wear out, but is cheap to replace. I always get spare Triger, hammer and sear. only problem with new WE is they inner barrel that has very small window for hopup bucking, and you are unable to put other bucking on that barrel.
@LamborghiniDiabloSVPursuit Жыл бұрын
The problem with this mentality is that, by your second FCG that needs replacing, you could have bought a VFC Gen 3 AR that doesn't need anything replaced ootb and already comes with a steel FCG. And if you decide to upgrade via RA-Tech, you could have bought a gun that didn't crap itself within a month of buying it.
@Jeranhound3 жыл бұрын
I'm sure someone has already brought it up, but GHK used to make a KAC PDW. Might be able to find one used for a decent price, and VFCs can run on modded GHK magazines, so that would cover at least part of the magazine price for running 2 systems.

@@JosefMucha100 Unfortunately I can't have an opinion yet on neither. I see that some mil-sim teams prefer TM MWS and was wondering why? So far it seems it performs a bit better in low temp conditions. I personally incline towards the VFC as it seems as a simpler system and I don't have to change a lot to a already expensive replica. For really cold weather cqb I ll just keep using my ptw if that's the case.
@rangerxairsoft81713 жыл бұрын
@@JosefMucha100 I went and saw a TM MTR to see what's all the fuss about. As soon as I opened the replica I said to myself I don't want to have anything to do with that plasticky stuff. Seemed toyish and the cherry on top was the upper and lower space. I bought a VFC Mk18 Mod 1 the next day and can't say I m sorry so far. Better quality parts with a more solid feel. Sturdy assembly, mags have zero wobble and the hop unit functions pretty well. Shooting decent at 50m.(on par with my SSP1 upgraded with ML I-key and hop wheel). Hop-up unit is adjustable in a very precise way with an allen key received in the package. Using .32g bbs and green gas. The only minuses are the stock with a huge wobble and the spring twang in the buffer tube. Since I m also a SSG24 owner I shoud be able to manage the twang and already ordered some RS Magpul furniture for externals.

@@Diactia Major wc problem with ghk is from 2019’s LCT outsource produced receivers. Latest v3 receiver is fine Previously a guy uploaded v3 misalignment of stock and chassis, and was proven that it’s an installation problem not production failure. GHK is still practically the best among Taiwan production. While VFC, miraculously having a way better reputation than before, only producing better looking copies, still have its QC issues producing with cheap metals. I have 8 GHKs and none fail me, Yet I see way more fails in VFC in real life than on the internet with not just their M4s, but also their MCX, MPX, M249. Broken receivers, slapped bolt, broken outter barrel, broken buffer tube, even broken fire control group, you name it. Never seen a broken GHK M4 on the field for once. I have almost 20 years airsoft experience and I have been building my own GBBs since 2012. GHK is as trust worthy as it is as a Taiwan brand. I have a few WE guns (G3A3, SCAR-H, MP5, P90) SCAR-H works but it's far from the best thing since sliced bread (poor design, wrong top rail dimension, poor accuracy) G3A3 is a dream and I have nothing to complain about, kicks like a mule, super accurate with a Unicorn bucking, sufficiently consistent considering the bolt weight MP5 is pretty much the best thing WE offers, also a consistent and accurate gun that's reliable (were the dry-fire lever isn't designed in such a dumb way, had a triple dead mag situation that turned out to be due to the lever not being pressing themselves back down after i reloaded them with BBs) After getting around the heavy trigger issue the P90 is pretty much one of the most awesome GBB submachine guns, excellent consistency, accurate and very fast firing Funny thing since you said about jamming is that there had been misfeeds with my WE MP5, but everytime that misfed BB can just be somewhere inside the receiver and do exactly nothing to the gun's operation - doesn't cause FPS problems, doens't jam, doesn't cause inconsistency in loading

Trade PDW barrels with me? Short for long? Did you swap the hammer spring on the P-90? I have G&P mags that won’t work in most my WA G&P rifles because they have very heavy hammer valves! I replaced the hammer spring on one rifle and now they work at 380fps compared to not working at all but!! The other mags in that rifle now are too hot at over 415 fps! Before though I’d get just a puff of air which wouldn’t move the bolt on any of my 7 G&P style GBBR! Try a heavier hammer spring!
