I want a hoop house type structure to cover our 29 foot Motorhome. We need only 12 foot wide. If I use your pipe deminsions and squeeze it to a narrower width will my pipe aech hight. It needs to be 12- 14 foot high. Did you do anything to your PVC pipes to make them bend into arches. I know you can heat PVE pipe and it will bend easily. Did you heat yours? Thanks for the great detailing of your videos.

You do not need to heat them, they will bend easily. A rule to follow is the width will be half the height. If you make it 12 feet wide it will be 6 feet high. You can push the arches in to make it higher like I did but I would recommend using 2 ten foot pipes glued together to give you 20 foot pipes for the arches. Push them in to your desired height and it should work out fine. Just don't stress the glue joints too much and it will hold up

do you think you could achieve a 20ft width and have the same openness of your new 15ft one if you increased the conduit pipe length, also do you think it would be structurally sound.

Seems to me like it would work

think this would hold up in winter in northern new York?
@ghog636 жыл бұрын
I think so. We had a very heavy layer of ice on ours a couple times and it held up fine. ( I have videos showing it.) Snow should slide right off and being in northern NY, I'm sure you see plenty of the white stuff.

What made you change the hoops from using conduit on the old one to using PVC on this one?
@ghog636 жыл бұрын
CB's Greenhouse and Garden we didn’t change. These are the exact same hoops. We brought them with us when we moved. Electrical conduit is pvc.
@CBsGreenhouseandGarden6 жыл бұрын
Yes I know it is a different type of pvc. Ele conduit is gray while sch 40 pvc is white. From what the suppliers of greenhouse plastic states that if I use sch 40 pvc they will not warranty the plastic. If I use the grey ele conduit then they will accept it. Thought yours was grey in the other videos and seen white in this one. I'm still studying on building me one or just buy another one like I have. Thanks for the info.

CB's Greenhouse and Garden oh, yay. It is white now. We painted the hoops to prevent a reaction with the plastic
@1982MCI5 жыл бұрын
@@ghog63 supposedly yo uh will not have the reaction with the gray conduit like you will the regular white PVC schedule 40 pipe. They are both PVC but they do have different chemical makeup is and require different glues and the white will cause the plastic to dry out and become brittle and will fall apart in one to two growing seasons
