We have an alter who is a shadow. For awhile we never noticed her in the innerworld because our innerworld is dark and she blended in. We believe she may have formed because of emotional neglect we experienced, leaving us feeling unseen and like a shadow.

I thought DID was more rare. It breaks my heart knowing this is so common, especially considering how this disorder comes to be. I had a really difficult childhood, but my personality didn’t split, so I can’t imagine how much worse it would’ve had to be for this to occur. I send genuine blessings and positive energy to you all. I hope you find peace. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

i once heard a good metaphor for ptsd (content warning, it mentions drowning): whether you drown in three feet of water or three thousand feet, it doesn't change the fact that you're drowning. trauma is subjective, and what some people can escape relatively intact can severely effect someone else. it's just that everyone is different! so there's nothing saying your experiences weren't "as bad." your brain just coped differently.
@kittyknox2369
@kittyknox2369 2 жыл бұрын
@@kvothekingkiller9097 I completely agree! Trauma can be as simple as you tripped weird and in that moment it felt like you were gonna die. That's enough for some brains to get a trauma response disorder. What I was able to withstand may kill others and for others not leave a scratch.
@purelysmetalnightcore
@purelysmetalnightcore 2 жыл бұрын
It is still rare, it's just that even 1-2% of the world's population is still a lot of people. For DID to form you have to not only experience repeated trauma before the age of 7, but you also have to lack emotional connection with the primary caregiver(s) AND your mind has to be predisposed to it. Even if two children experience the same trauma, some brains are just incapable of splitting. It's actually more common for children to exposed to such trauma to be feral. As far as I'm aware, it's believed there's a genetic component involved, but it's not fully understood why people with extremely similar experiences to those with DID don't have it.

It’s the most mean alter we have, even to other alters in our system (other then littles). I’ve been told by my therapist it could have been formed because of past intense bullying. It has the memories of us being bullied (Mod goes by It/It’s). your videos have been very helpful for us to have a better understanding. We have OSDD, in the beginning we had no idea what it was or the roles of a alter ect and our higher up Ash started watching your videos and since she is a higher up it helped her sort everyone into the roles that she thought would be good for that alter. @conlon4332
@conlon4332 2 жыл бұрын
@@theonionsystem7779 They have many trauma holders, not just Omega. She mainly holds that suicide attempt, and she said she got some other stuff too which she didn't go into. Jade's video about herself and gatekeepers in general explained about this kind of thing, but basically different alters hold different trauma. Being a trauma holder just means that they hold some trauma, as some alters don't carry any. Jade said she has some trauma of her own, but mainly her job is controlling what different alters remember/hold and holding back memories if necessary (if the alter can't cope with them). Ruby is a big trauma holder for the system - I think she carries a lot. Nina was the sexual protector and she held sexual trauma. She integrated with Chloe the host to make Nin, who holds most of Nina's memories although Jade (in the video referenced above) mentioned holding some memories back from her. Nin has integrated again now, and I don't know what Kya remembers/holds. So in summary, their trauma holders include Ruby, Omega, somewhat Jade, and Nina/Nin/now Kya. They've also talked vaguely about having several persecutors, and I believe persecutors are always trauma holders. One they've named is Demon. They also don't share information on their littles, but I think they've mentioned that some of them are trauma holders although I don't remember where. Maybe in the video about why they don't talk about their littles.

I dont think i have DID because I was bullied quite badly between ages 17-18 (lil too old). But for those 2 years my parents describe me as if I changed personality or lost my personality. Recently, my mom told me that I am “finally back”, after 5 years. It might just be a coping mechanism. I was such a positive and cheerful child growing up and became completely soft-spoken and apologetic for 2 years. Even after a year being removed from that situation, one small trigger can send me bawling and trembling in front of a wall, which was scary to me after I recovered from crying for 15min straight almost like disassociating myself from what just happened. I dont think I have forgotten the period between 17-18, but I did realise in recent months (doing so much better now) that I start to remember excruciating details that Ive forgotten. I always tried not to “unbox” the memories as much as possible because my dad will say that I am just holding onto the past and becoming pitiful (typical Asian father, he is a good dad but don’t really understand mental wellness) so i always try to push it down, but because i felt stronger recently I did try talk about it to my sis but sadly, it still proves to be too much. I am angry that I still have anger. I am at such a better place now and I have achieve so much more than what those people said I can only mount to. I dont know what to do. I guess I can live on but I really hate those episodes where I crumble especially when something triggers it and I am brought back to the ages of 17 and 18. But that happens maybe once every 3-4 months now. I didn’t know I will write this much haha Idk just felt like this channel will understand and validate these thoughts…because i know compared to a lot of ppl it isnt a big deal, i had a great childhood but because I chose to enter a highly competitive field to follow my dreams, i entered a playing field that is beyond my natural capabilities. I guess my biggest fear for myself is coming to a conclusion again that it is my fault that all these happened to me and that one day someone will convince me again that this is all in my head.

As you said that trauma therapy is able to help, I hope that you have been able to find some healing and relief. My love to all of you. 🤗

I've watched almost all of your videos because I am interested in learning about DID, and this is the first video I've watched that has made me want to cry and give you a hug and tell you things are going to be okay. I know a lot of people have probably already said this, but I'll just add one more person by saying, there are people who care about you. I don't really know you, but I've watched your journey on KZbin and your struggles and I wish only the best for you and I care. You are very strong and I hope you succeed in everything you do.🙏💖🤗

I'm not an alter, but I had a very cathardic trauma related dream where I was a ghost watching my own death (which I interpret as a representation of childhood trauma) after I watched this video when it was first uploaded. So this one holds a special place in my heart and so does Omega 🖤. Hope everyone in DissociaDID is doing well 💫

I was hoping to see this one again! Especially since the other video with Omega in it was... less than great for them to put it lightly. I'm really hoping to see the "alters draw themselves" video make a return, but no worries if not. I'm just glad you guys are getting all these videos back!

I have 2 alters that died twice in Ukraine. 1st a few years after chernobyl, then more recently a few months after the invasion. One was the Eternal (non-aging) Mother of the other which is an Eternal toddler girl. In all honesty, they saved my life....I dont believe in luck, sothere was a reason that their souls found me when they did, but i feel very lucky that they chose me when they could have chosen anyone else in the world.....She effectively adopted me as a daughter. When they found me, i had hunch because i felt a cold/chilled sensation that im accustomed to for many other reasons, but it lingered longer than usual.

I didn't think DID was that common so I went and searched up how common other disorders are and DID is as common as schizophrenia, OCD, etc. Then I searched up how common narcolepsy is, which is the sleep disorder I was diagnosed with, and it's estimated to affect 0.4% of people worldwide, which is staggering to me. My doctor told me I'm "like a unicorn", which I was like okay well I'm sure it's not THAT rare. I NEVER expected it to be even slightly more rare than DID. That being said though, if you have DID, my heart goes out to you and your system. I hope that you are learning ways to communicate with your alters and cope with your disorder as I am learning to cope with mine. Much love

I didn't realise how common DID was. I don't have it myself (as far as I'm aware) however I do have an anxiety disorder which has caused me to dissociate at times when it has gotten really difficult to handle. It's not something that happens often, as I tend to avoid putting myself into situations that may trigger it, so I wouldn't say that I have a dissociation related disorder, but I think it's interesting the amount of people who probably experience similar things don't realise what it is. From my own experience, it tends to be more of the 'watching myself doing something from outside of my body', which can be scary. This channel and other information has helped me to understand dissociation in general a lot more, so thank you.

Thank you for sharing this Omega. Never feel your existence is a curse, you chose to share your experience and you've given something positive to the world with that choice. You may not be the one who smiles, and you didn't ask for this role, but you've turned your pain into a support for others. Very courageous and kind of you.

This may sound weird, but i have a hard time percieving (not believing) the different alters as different alters. But the ring light reflecting in your eyes for some reason helped out with that a lot and made me feel like i was listening to another identity, or rather more deeply, another entity. I understand this was posted a long time ago so I'm pretty late to the party, but this was the first time it FELT like someone else was speaking. You're all very brave tho, keep it up :)

It is highly unlikely they each have their own rooms in the physical world. I know it was mentioned in the interview with Anthony, I'm not sure if it is mentioned on this channel, but they have around 22 alters in their system. They would need a full on Mansion to do that. However I know of a few systems that try to either make individual spaces, or they collaborate to make common spaces where several if not all alters can feel safe in. An example of what I mean, I know some systems will make a corner or cubby space full of stuffed animals and toys for the littles in their system, this is just like a corner of the bedroom or living room so that they can have a safe space when they front. Or if many members of the system are particularly into art, they might make an artist space/room so that many members are able to use it while fronting. I hope this helps! I don't have DID but this is some information I have learned from watching a few different channels for a while. In a smaller system it may be possible to have individual rooms, but I think most just try to optimize the space they have ☺️

Depends, each system is different and has different inner worlds, I think DissociaDID’s is a big house and I think there’s a forest too and some alters live in the forest like Omega I believe so it’s not strictly like each alter has its own room or anything, I think it’s just how the brain believes it best for the system to be safe at the time and most of it revolves around that, such as keeping trauma hidden away until it’s ready to be processed and stuff like that.

My friend has an alter who is a fictive of a will-o-wisp from Brave (the movie with the princess Merida) and they're nonverbal but they're so gentle, they like hugs and succulents and Celtic history! (Everyone calls it an "it" or use they/them sooo you can use whichever as they've never seemed upset by it!) It has no name but we occasionally call it Will! Super cool being! (Being is used as they're sentient but not human nor animal)

I've gotten consent to share why they exist! Its because when host (Aisia) was younger she felt as if people just used her to get to where they need to be and leave (like stepping stones in a river) and if you watch brave they lead her to the witches house! So yeah, also note from Asia ; ALSO WILL LIKES HARD ROCK MUSIC, IRONIC RIGHT! n e wayz BIYYYY (BYEEE)
