The animation quality of 2045 series is easily in the A-list compared to other 3DCG anime, especially when showcasing the abnormal physical ability of post humans. In fact, I'll argue that this is more than preferable instead of just mid-tier hand drawn animation, because let's face it-- the original SAC series was never known for impressive animation quality, nor is Production IG. And that's not counting in the poor state that Japan anime industry is in right now. Yes, the texture may seem toy-ish at first, but if someone complains it even after finishing the show, he's just hating 3D in general.

The creators ruined this series themselves. Orignal GITS and SAC objectively had one of the best 2D animation and in comparison this looks like literal crap, even with limited tech back then Innocence looked better in CGI department.

@@BlackKoshinomi Why do I care...? Well, Orignal GITS and SAC are one of my most favourite anime out there. Not only they had great story and plot but also really great and beautiful 2D animation, which has set the standard of its own (even many anime that came after it can't hold candle to it). On the other hand this new sequel looks like a mobile game cutscene, it looks cheap and ugly in comparison and nowhere meets standard old series had set visually. I don't even hate the cgi as long as it looks good. This series should have looked atleast a little bit similar to FF VII movie, or Innocence if it was going full cg. Instead it is just a cheap CGI series produced by Netflix along with orignal studio to milk money out of an already famous franchise, just like they (Netflix) had done before with many other popular anime. My saltiness mainly come from it being really disappointing visually and nothing more (haven't watched this one yet and not planing on watching either). At end of the day it is just my subjective opinion and you are free to disagree.

the manga is not contemplated that's why Masamune Shirow I've had enough and gave himself to the Hentai yes Mamoru Oshii made spectacular animated films but Kenji Kamiyama really adapted Masamune Shirow manga I also appreciated Shinji Aramaki who adapted Shirow other works that we will probably never see again
