Thank you sir this is one of my favorites and nobody ever talks about it. Season 2 was incredible too

So far my favorite iteration of GITS. I love the Tachikumas and how each character, especially Motoko and Batou, get more characterization.

The lack of original is a key part of the plot. It emphasizes the way the audience misunderstood the event they saw on TV, by nature of how TV distorts the events being covered. As you mentioned, the audience misinterprets the events and makes it something they *want* to see, and some of them become copycats. But what they're copying never existed, so there is no original. From the POV of law enforcement, which Kusanagi & Section 9 represent, that makes it very hard to track or predict. Season 1 shows how that can happen and accidentally cause stochastic terrorism. Season 2 shows it can be done on purpose. Whenever you get around to watching S2, pay attention to how Gouda talks about creation through consumption.

So litterally this anime can be summarized as: “memes went wromg”

This series is how I got into GITS and is still my favorite part. Also was lucky enough to meet Mary McGlynn the voice of the Major for the English dub.

This series was one I watched a lot in my early days of the anime block of Adult Swim.

I have core memories of watching this series as a kid on toonami, coming back as a adult is a trip because its so well written and pertinent to stuff in the current day

My favorite iteration of GITS. I still listen to lithium flower and inner universe to this day. Such a cool series

Gits SAC is absolutely goated and far ahead of its time. The episode about memes blew me away with how relevant it was.

When I watched the OG 2 seasons of SAC it was kinda rough experience for the most part & at the time my fav sections were jus when the tachikomas would go on random philosophical talks but in both seasons hilariously enough I really ended up lovin it all come together at the very end of both of them. I appreciate them more after those endings rather than when I initially watched them through as a whole. R u guna watch the sequel series of SAC? They came out after Arise & the Shin movie.

Pretty sure the SAC cast was not the original dub cast for the movie but that they redubbed it after SAC was so popular

I like this show as well. It's certainly a deep or very philosophical heavy anime so much to the point to where I actually prefer to watch it dubbed due to not really catching the dialog very well in sub. Even in dub I feel like I need to rewatch at times to keep up with a lot of the military/governmental politics of it all but I still think it's a fantastic show and gets into Motoko and some other characters a lot more indepth than some other adaptations I've seen. Here hopes that you see Season 2 and enjoy that as well.

My favorite anime series and in my honest opinion the best anime I've ever seen. Seasons 1 and 2 are masterpieces with fantastic and mature writing, music and great direction. After the 2nd season you should also watch the Solid State Society film. Also I'd recommend you rewatch the entire series (S01 and S02) with the japanese dub, the voice actors are phenomenal plus the series has a lot of replay value with tons of material to comprehend. It took me 2 or 3 views to understand all the references man, you're not alone on that. Don't bother with the recent anime seasons though. Horrible presentation and weak story in comparison.

I’ve never seen it, is this based on a manga? Think I’d prefer to read it.

Every version of Ghost in the Shell is a bit different. The manga is the original source material but honestly you can get something different out of each adaptation too.

Its a must watch series. The manga is different but also good. But this is in my top 5

It was the 1992 movie that ispired Matrix . SAC came after both.

its still the same?
@halowillneverbegoodagain18682 ай бұрын
@@hafizanmohammadothman7460 No actually they are very different takes on the source material. The film is an introspective mood piece and SAC a procedural akin to a cyberpunk The Wire.
