Nice.video , I noticed that you do not play your back stay much .is it maxed out ?

Yeah, we wanted to depower as much as possible in the gusts. The skipper is busy playing main, traveler, backstay, jib grinding, and tiller.

Any reason you all do not have the middle crew play those things.

@@camdensimon1935 I have watched a few of these videos and the skipper does a lot of the heavy lifting. The trimmer should be actively trimming the jib sheets, but cleats it them down and sits on the rail. Cleating the sheets makes it hard for the driver to get flow over the main sometimes. I get it though--you need those lbs on the rail in this wind!

yeah, that was fun, one or two lost hats. We noticed a few hats from other boats floating around and one nice sailing watch. Big yellow Ronstan clearstart.

Yeah, I was surprised how deep you all were sailing downwind, any reason you were sailing that deep of an angle in those waves? Looks like fun….wish I was there!!!!

@@camdensimon1935 .. Yes. Looks like they were cough by a wave throwing them too low. A chin strap on your hat is a good idea.
