Thank You for sharing. If interested you might want to reach out to Lopaka Kapanui. He is carrying on the work of the late Glen Grant who was the collector/documentor/storyteller of Hawaii ghost stories and writer of the Chicken skin and Obake file books to name a few. I have heard the true ghost stories that Glen Grant would tell on his Obake tours, in lectures and even read his books but I don't ever recall any that was offshore on a boat, so this might have other meaning. Perhaps Mr. Kapanui would be able to provide you with additional information and/or insight. In any case, thank you again for sharing, I truly enjoy you taking us along on your adventures! Running a boat at night puts you in a special state of mind. I think you "saw" your own youthful spirit. 10-12 is about the correct time between too young and adult life garbage. My take away is that you are doing what you always loved.

Bruh! We were staying at Turtle bay turtle bay in one of the villas on the water and we got bothered by a kid ghost. He was in my sons crib, turning on and off our lights all night etc. The next day somebody said, maybe we should stay close to our son that’s what the ghost was trying to tell us. I didn’t get anything from that experience that would lead me to believe that’s what I needed to do. However, I told the staff and they moved us to another room and that night my son stopped breathing for some reason that we had to call the ambulance immediately and give him his EpiPen. Yes he has allergies but I was the first time I’ve ever had to give him his EpiPen. Maybe that kid was looking out for us. Crazy story that you had but loving your outlook on it.

Wow that’s wild. My wife used to be a ICU Nurse and a children’s hospital. She had some crazy story’s when she used to work the bedside. Let’s just say the grim reaper is 100% real. 🤙

Crazy!! But yeah i always think about when that stuff happens because i used to go ulua fishing at Kaena point north shore and waianae side. Always would see something there but i alway thought it was a good thing because i felt protected. Hawaii’s mana is always surreal!!

I believe you and think you're right, had it been an evil spirit with bad intensions you would have felt and known it. Just pray a hedge of protection around yourself before every fishing trip and bring a little offering to honor your little friend as a sign of respect. There are probably countless others who have experienced the same thing at the same location. I hope by you sharing your paranormal story helps figure out who this young man was.

Hi Nick thanks for sharing, I believe you. In the 70s my dad brought a boat from a co worker at Lualualei the history of that boat was not pleasant. A fisherman fell off that boat off Keena Point body was never found,my dad and his friends always felt there was someone else was on the boat with them when they were fishing off Kaena. They did not see anyone just a weird feeling .

I believe you, because I saw a ghost during the day. I was inside of the Kaneohe McDonald's ( before the renovation when there was a toilet with two doors going in). I was sitting inside right across my van that was parked outside. As I was sitting there I saw a lady in the backseat of my van. She was just sitting like she was waiting. First I thought it wasn't my van, but my son's three karate medals were hanging in the front. I told this story to someone who wanted to use it in their book.

Hopefully someone can chime who knows about this young man! His family may still be looking for closer. I know of a young man that drowned in kaaawa got trapped in a cave for days, search and rescue gave up on the search and my cousin knew exactly where he was and found him.

You don't really believe in this stuff until it happens. Here's what happened to me. 4 days before my grandpa passed away in the hospital because of diabetes. In the process of dieing and then being brought back my gramps was also seeing and talking to people that weren't there in the room. gramps spoke to my mom and told her to have me put away the white bird before it leaves. At the time I owned a gray cockatiel. 2 or 3 days later after the bird was mentioned my GP died and the same day he left a all white cockatiel landed on my bird's cage outside. The next day mom came home and I showed her the bird, it got crazey from there😥. That event help me grow from a young man to a family man. Feel like even after death my GP was still looking out for me trying to comfort me with a bird. I ended up giving those birds to my grandma. The pair of birds ended up being a mating pair with several babies in the years to come.love you GP Rest in peace 🕊️
