One of my favorite things about this, is that the game forces you to pay attention to the scenery by having the world itself direct you. Too often I'm checking a minimap every other second and I appreciate having the opportunity to more fully immerse into a world like this.

yeah... definitely the best thing... it was really annoying the first day I had the game because it kept the mission objective in the top left. With the update and the minimal hud mode, it's much funner, but I can't find any iron any more. 2 hours only needing 2 iron for my katana upgrade. Still looking!

The story was amazing. Even the less important side quests are almost always super compelling, I’m not sure where people are coming from when they say they are repetitive or bland. Each side quest is very emotional and tells a deep story about the state of the island and its people.

You forgot to mention the loading times. I honestly thought I’d be spending hours looking at loading screens for this game. Most of the time I can barely read one of the on screen tips that you can scroll through before it has loaded me back into the beautifully rendered island of Tsushima.

And the funny thing is that they made loading longer on porpuse because they optimized the game to well the loading would have ben an instant they made it longer so you can read the tutorials the problem with that is that they could have solve this problem by pressing x if u want to continue this is just stupid

Gery Bock that is very true. We’d easily appreciate all games from now on to allow us to skip the loading with a press of a button if your console is powerful enough to load quickly. Also interactive loading like in fallout 4 is pretty cool. Doesn’t make you bored your ass off waiting for the moment you spawn into an open world

I have a PS4, and a PC as well... I'd rather have a high refresh rate monitor at 1080p than 60 Hz at 4K, It's too expensive to have both right now, maybe in the future. I have a 160Hz refresh rate monitor at 1080p, I don't regret it. I love Ghost of Tsushima, played it nearly for 8 hours yesterday... but I hate the refresh rate, I feel gross every time I turn the camera. It's a bit hard to go back to 30FPS when you've been playing game 60+ for sometimes. I hope it comes to PC eventually, I like this game enough I'd buy it again.

What really impresses me is that the game values art and culture so much. Its no hack n slash in good looking egypt, but u learn about japanese poetry, can play a flute, chill at wonderful shrines, the armor is more that just "make it harder!"... sooooo enjoyable

This game is something else, very atmospheric (I caught myself staring at the background many times) and the combat is indulging especially when you get the hang of it. Duels and mythic tales are quite interesting and the different armor types give a little bit of variety when you get bored doing the same mission types again and again.

Ghost of Tsuhsima is a glitchy mess for me right now. Either the characters themselves will freeze during the cutscene, or their lips will be moving with no audio and the subtitles will be gone as well. I'm on a PS4 Pro 4K HDR... I tried reinstalling the game, that didn't work. I tried Rebuilding my Database through Safe Mode, that didn't work. I tried prioritizing Performance over Higher Resolution, that didn't work. Hopefully a patch is released by next week...doubtful tho. Anyway...Ghost of Tsuhsima corrupted my HDD so I had to Initialize my console through Safe Mode...deleting all my Data. I have yet to try Ghost of Tsuhsima which I will later tonight. This issue was also present when I played The Last of Us 2 but on a much smaller scale. Still...I've never had this difficult of time with any games until 2020...*sign...what an overall crappy year so far. On a good note, Ghost of Tsuhsima is a beautiful game when it works...no hate on my end at all, just sharing my unfortunate event.

@@kidnamedfinger2840 they would probably put up 5 diff editions and diff dlc's per editions and feed it with tons of boring side quests and repetitive camp raid, they would also fill up your screen with huds and waypoints and line direction pointing where you wanna go, and they would probably give you a 2 hour intro of useless present day story stuff, and they will add mythical beasts of japan and would add gods and goddesses of japan that would break your immersion of grounded reality and they would add... ya know, tower climbing and such to open the map, with tons of collectibles that you need to grind to find it in a ultra-mega size map of japan that doesn't have that much things to do... and they would probably rush the development that game for like 2 and a half year with an RPG shenanigans and some copy-pasted combat from odyssey... Yeah, just some ubisoft stuff..

@@JianimalGaming way harder. i finished the whole story in ghost tsushima on "hard" and maybe only khan and the lord shimura duell come close to the FIRST real boss in sekiro. im playing new game+ now on lethal mode and its somewhat comparable to sekiro. if you know how to perfect parry its gonn be an advantage for you but either way you're going to get challenged way more in sekiro

The last game I lost myself in was Horizon and that one really blew me away on all areas. I just got a 50" 4K tv so might splash out on this game.

No it has another reason. In a fight people are full of adrenaline and focus, so even if they take several hits they wont die emediately, it takes a minute until the actual pain kicks in :3

ghost of tsushima is just an amazing game. It just takes you a moment to just sit on ur saddle of ur horse (whatever u named it. mine was nobu) to just appreciate the beautiful graphical environment. And the random duels that capitalizes the environment ur in as well, the side quests are actually sick bc u feel invested into playing them bc of the relationship between the charcters and the goal they are trying to achieve which gets pretty intersting. I'm about 13 hours into the game thus far, and my god, the combat is easily my favorite thing about this game. Ghost just NAILS making you feel like a badass, it's like how Doom is to shooters for RPGs. You can just pull off the most insane fights with skill, and I'm constantly just saying wow to the things Jin can pull off. I really really really love Jin's story so far, and the open world. It's just a beautifully made game imo. The stealth is pretty ass, and I really think the story would benefit from more player choice, but the foundation of the game is so frickin perfect in my eyes that it's all that matters to me. Idk how the story ends but I really hope they can make a sequel, cause they struck gold with this IP, at least with what I've played so far

I honestly didn't care much for stealth right off the bat (in-fact, I thought it was the weakest part of the game) but as Jin gradually comes to accept being the Ghost, you yourself gradually come to prefer stealth over direct confrontations. Or at least I did.

I never perfected or got the platinum trophy in all the games that I purchased but man this game did something to me.. got my first platinum at like 4:30 am couple weeks ago LOL I would end up playing almost 5 to 6 hours without even realizing it! I actually enjoyed the stealth part! Loved jumping off a building to pull off an assassination. Felt so badass!! Visually beautiful as well. Like unbelievable. I really loved the Guiding wind mechanic for some reason it felt more natural to me. I actually found doing the side quests a little more interesting that the main in my opinion! I'm also not an avid gamer so this game was like the perfect level of chill/adventure/difficulty for me to enjoy especially during these weird times of quarantine. I do hope for some DLC or some more content besides multiplayer!

Talal I played on medium and it wasn’t too easy but it wasn’t really difficult. It really depends on how much you prepare yourself before you enter a new area and the exploration is actually fun and interesting so unlocking new abilities and collectibles isn’t a grind when trying to level yourself up.

My favorite things about the game in no particular order: -Extremely fast loading times - Beautiful character models - Japanese voice acting -The overall sound design from clashing weapons to killing enemies - Beautiful open world, I was stunned at the amount of bright colors and heavy details - The music - Combat is actually meant to deal with multiple enemies at once and is based on skill, not leveling up - The navigation system, it's different from other games - Jins outfits/weapons and their customization Things I don't like that could probably be fixed with a patch or future content: - Combat can feel a little clunky if trying to rush around (it's not as responsive as Sekiro but miles better than Jedi fallen order) - Noticed that assassinating enemies sometimes results in little feedback or non at all decreasing immersion - Missions can be repetitive at times but still very enjoyable - Time only slows down when trying to select a quick weapon but not when selecting a ranged weapon while in combat - Story is good but predictable at times. It's not on par with Sekiro but it's not cheesy like Nioh1&2.

Just want to say I understand the slowing down time aspect. If you’re changing a quick weapon, odds are you’re in the middle of melee combat. The bow is meant primarily for long range, so you won’t usually be doing it in a last second pinch.

Combat for me is an easy 10/10 I love the parrying and the switching of stances. Story is very very good. This game that I have played already for 15-20 hours and I haven't even left the first area is my favorite game of all time. I haven't felt that way since the original Nier came out.

@@rapden18 I always equip jin's mask for cutscenes and i'm usually reading the subtitles so I don't notice the facial animations. I just prefer having zoro's voice.

Finally got around to playing this game knowing the great reviews and a nice hard stomp on LoU2. Having a PS5, I went ahead and got Director's Cut for the game. I agree with some good points you made, especially about the assassination haha. As for the game itself, I've been struggling keeping on the path due to the colors and well done sceneries.. Lots of small videography/photography moments 👌🏻

I really like the combat system, it’s like a easier/more “crowd control” oriented version of Sekiros combat. Parrying is basically essential to combat, if you want to be able to take out the tough guys you gotta parry em. The stances/upgrades to stances seem a little bit underwhelming tho, I wish they gave you more flashy fun moves to use rather than the options presented.
