@@owenitzura Welcome to TSUSHIMA. I hope someday you can arrive at Japan.

Cool! After the game developers said that they really weren't concerned about historical accuracy, I figured they were going with a more "fantasy version" of Tsushima, so I really wasn't expecting the game scenery to match the reality, but it does, at least a little bit.

Yea, it absolutely does. You have to allow for 800 or so years of erosion. Plus landscaping and earth movers to make the roads, etc. But some of the locations were the spitting images of the in-game locations. Just incredible, and an achievement to be proud of for sure.

I have a feeling Tsushima’s tourism is gonna increase when international travel is allowed again

I bet the locals are gonna get tired of being asked where the tomb of Jin Sakai is.

oh it definitely will and already is with japanese tourists and with other foreigners like me who already live in japan. i plan on checking it out before they open the country because im sure it will get pretty crowded. actually i havent met a japanese yet (in tokyo, who doesnt game) who has even heard of tsushima, so all the old people there will be like wtf all these people coming here for? haha

I need to take my advantage of living in Japan currently before it begins.
Crazy. I will never forget the month I spent on this little island. GOTY, IMO. And a soundtrack I will always have in my playlist.

I really hope it gets the GOTY award, but for some reason the critics reviews wasn't so great (8+ if I remember correctly), while the public review was great (9,3 on metacritic I think). The big opponents are the last of us 2 (never been a fan of the series but can't deny it's a great game, I only think people exaggerate how good it is). And cyberpunk 2077, which promises a lot but let's see when it comes out. I didn't like how the first person looks, kinda chunky imo. I like first person games from all genres from Warzone up to Dishonored but cyberpunk has so much character customization that we'll only see in cutscenes and close combat like katanas and hand to hand that looks bad in first person so I don't think it will be my choice for GOTY.

@@andrebarbosa5992 I was told Cyberpunk won't be in the running for this year. Cut-off date is oddly placed, before q4 or something. Also, I doubt LOU2 wins. Too many hated it. Anti-Abbey crowd is real.

@@andrebarbosa5992 Also I TOTALLY agree with 1st person sword fighting games look ridiculous. Its why I laugh whenever somebody brings up the Shadow Warrior games. Just dumb. I am hoping you aren't forced to use it in Cyberpunk.
American Journalists: "Ghost of Tsushima is offensive because it was made by Americans". Me: "Look at the amount of respects and dedication they put into this game. Everywhere in Tsushima is a painting".

Actually a famous proffessor of tokyo university talks about this game with sucker punch pro. and he says "this game is much worth than my study over 30yrs!" Respective amount of research is much worth to be respect.
The game itself was great in the end...I love how it admires the Japanese old culture and its historical reality of what the Mongol invasion did to such a peaceful island filled with guarding samurais and great landscapes, now built modernly to be well fitted with the environment of its coloring and notations to history. Well done Sucker Punch YOUVE made a game with TRUELY well worth of studies towards making such a beautiful game with a story full of emotions and horrors of the war. 👏💕
