Ghost of Tsushima sword and bow is by far one of the most smooth and elegant weapons I have ever seen. It felt like the sword and bow were just so smooth and worked so well together. Usually games either have you use one weapon then the others in your arsenal but using the bow on horse back while fighting enemies is so satisfying and to jump off and go straight into sword combat is amazing. @mhdirham2276 Allow me to disagree. FYI, I have played both games. RoTR i have completed till half and in GoT I have platinum. For additional background I have Plat in Sekiro and have completed Elden Ring, Lies of P. 1. RoTR has shit lighting. Textures are not that bad but the lighting sucks at almost all places. 2. RoTR the combat is just not exactly satisfying. Yes, it looks all good and glittery while looking at it but when it really comes to the implementation of it then its more or less the same (I have tried almost all weapon types). Enemies have crazy high forward momentum which pretty much kills the aspect of KEEPING YOUR DISTANCE. Yeah, there are some good things here and there but bad is bad enough to dull their shine. 3. RoTR has shit performance. IF I AM GETTING BELOW 60 FPS EVEN IN PERFORMANCE THEN YES U DESERVE HATE. I will however agree to following as well: 1. RoTR has well crafted world where different things, building and their placements makes sense and looks immersive if not for those shit graphics. 2. RoTR has implemented bonds and missions which allow bonds quite neetely. 3. RoTR has good storyline. (At least till the point I have played)

From my Japanese point of view, "Ronin" is an action fantasy manga for young men with ninjas and samurai. On the other hand, "Tsushima" looks like a high-quality period drama film. Both are well accepted in the Japanese community, with "Ronin" being enjoyed as a manga game and "Tsushima" as a period movie game. There is not much conflict in the fan communities. That is to be expected. The studio behind RotR has a very different kind of focus than Sucker Punch. Graphics and level design have never been their forte, they are better at enemy design and combat design. When RotR was announced I immediately expected these comparisons because PS fans tend to be very, VERY, superficial with games. Graphics are 70% of a game for PS fans, the other 30% is it being an open world.

Ghosts of Tsushima doesn't manage realistic combat. It's very stylized, similar to western films.
@TheOGBaldski6 ай бұрын
@@7dayspking it does it WAY better than any other game. The reaching is realistic, about 90% of the moves are realistic the only non realistic part are the shield blocks, stagger damage (it's realistic but not in this game) and parries. There's even video's about some pro sword fighters doing Jin's moves.
@7dayspking6 ай бұрын
@@TheOGBaldski Bro. There's combat sports games, those are semi realistic. Ghosts of Tsushima isn't realistic. Ghosts of Tsushima is somewhat authentic to the fantasy of sword combat that's proposed in traditional Japanese martial arts. Idea of waiting idly, then sidestepping an opponent's first attack and making an instantly lethal counter strike is stupid outside demonstrations. Even dumber when you remember Ghosts of Tsushima, and the warring periods in Japan, were filled with guys wearing armour! Battlefields and sieges included missile units, artillery, mounted units, shielded units, barricades, trenches, tight formations of infantry with polearms and later gunpowder weapons. The basic slashes, the simple ones without the spins and theatrics are direct. The thrusts are stylized making them unnecessarily difficult to use, but not impossible. The basic blocking (holding block button), catching incoming strikes with the blade is one of the main ways to intercept incoming strikes, fine. The parries & counters that involve side stepping slashes are wishful thinking. And being able to consistently counter with a single, instantly lethal strike, on armoured enemies no less, is a fantasy. No distances. No movement. No timing. No defence. No combinations. No set ups. No feints. No variation in attacked targets, attacking angles or attacks. Just parry and counter, not reliable to manage consistently against someone actually fighting. Just looks nice in fake demonstrations. When people fight, everybody gets hit until one side lands damaging enough strikes, or a damaging enough strike to hinder the other's ability to fight. That's realistic. If you don't train for that, you're training a fantasy. unless you're training to develop armour to resist attacks.
@milosstojanovic46236 ай бұрын
@@7dayspkingdid you even play the game !? Do you ever trained with a tachi or katana!? I did, and movement is spot on, he is doing all kind of movements like cugiashi, tenkan, parries are spot on and counter downward and upper slash, swiping with a foot, armpit slash. Yes its more stylized to look like movie cinematic just to be more interesting, and game also has lethal combat, where everyone dies with 2 maybe 3 slashes. You are just oblivious or did not even play the game.

Yesterday I decided to get GoT, especially since it had released on PC, to me this game blew away expectations, the story is simple but sweet, the gameplay is very satisfying, it may be a bit simple and easy but it's honestly refreshing to play a game that isn't busting my balls in every fight. The textures are somewhat low quality but it doesn't bother me, this is one of the best performing games out there, it's very well optimised, I play the game at 2k resolution and I can't tell if it's ever dropped below 144 fps. You also stop taking notice of the low texture quality because the game's lighting is incredible, it feels like I'm watching a video rather than playing a game, it looks surprisingly close to real life.

The difference between American/Western made games and Japanese is that Western game devs strive for detail and realism. Japan isn't so concerned with realism, so oftentimes the games feel more arcady, snappy and linear in comparison. It's interesting that a lot of Japanese people say "I wish Ghost of Tsuchima was made in Japan” but given the different approaches to game-making between the two cultures, it wouldn't be possible for Japan to make something like GoT... as we can see above. Although, to be fair, Koei and Team Ninja are more used to making series like Dynasty Warriors where small detail takes a backseat to frantic, arcade-like, high speed gameplay.

i just realize the actor of ghost of tsushima is the "50 year old japanese man" in youtube. by the way, the ronin jerking the sword to clean stains before sheathing the sword is "symbolical" in samurai teaching. they warriors dont really have to or actually doing that fin real situations. also having the holster/sheath with the sword edge facing up like in the tsushima game is the more common in real world than the one in ronin. because when you sheath the sword back into its holster/sleeve without looking you have to make sure you wont cut yourself when you lining up the base of the sword with the holster's opening, when you 'floss" the sword on the holster opening's lip from the hand guard level all the way to the tip until it meets. you want to make sure the dull side(the back) touches with your hand and the holster tip, not the sharp edge. thats why than it will sheath back in facing UP. surprising that western developer sucker punch studio actually doing it more accurate.

The art direction in both games is stunningly different. I haven't played Rise of the Ronin (ROTR) yet but based on this video I can already tell that I might struggle getting through it knowing that it's essentially the same game as Ghost with much a less vibrant backdrop. That said, both games have their advantages and disadvantages, but Ghost seems to be the better overall package (though having a glider in Ghost would be awesome). One detail I didn't care for in ROTR is that he doesn't have a quiver. He's reaching back and pulling arrows out of the ether (or out of his ass). But in Ghost, Jin is carrying a quiver and you can actually see his inventory of arrows. And yes, being able to take them back from trees or on the ground is great since they're in short supply. From the looks of it, ROTR has unlimited arrows since there's no HUD to indicate what you're carrying and/or arrows remaining.
