This will be huge on there new 8s esc for speedrunning 6 pole motors..the xlx2 is currently haveing syncing issues above 50,000 rpms on the tp 56mm 6 pole motors.with these feature it could work..hopefully new 8s esc wont have this syncing issue anyways

I think the 32bit processor will help with running 6 pole motors. The old esc was only 8bit so reading that many signals per rpm must have been difficult. Having a process that is much faster could help with sync issues. These are just my thoughts and not stuff that’s come from castle. So hopefully they make a 1/7 and 1/5 version in the future and the new hardware improves what we have available now.

@@StewMac570 great to hear your input.not to tech savvy, just like to go fast.but makes perfect sense.i love the torque of the big cans.just can't get the rpms ya need.no one really nows exact rpm or cause ,but if resolved it could be huge

@@KBASHRC yeah if the 6 poles could be used again it would be a game change. The older esc are full so there is no more space in there memory to fit changed to handle 6 poles. The new esc has heaps of space to grow. So it’s only just the beginning of what these new generations can do.

It appears they no longer have a built in capacitor. Why do you think that is? Have you experimented with and without one to see if it is needed? If it does, any thoughts on how big of one is needed? Thanks appreciate your insight.

It has built in caps but they are designed to handle a voltage range from 2 to 4s. I don’t experiment with caps. I have made my own and gone down that path. Now day I just buy ones I know work.

@@StewMac570 I meant have you tested without to see what rippple is like? What cap are you using?

@@Paul-815 no. I know the ripple will be higher which can cause damage to the esc. So I don’t intentionally try to damage the esc by testing without the cap pack.

Is that a Y connector you are using from the receiver to the esc so you don’t have to keep unplugging from the receiver ?

Hello Stew! Question concerning rpm input. When you are setting rpm activation for timing in this new Cobra, do you still need to double the number you want to set it at? Like if i want to set it to activate from 1500 to 30,000, do i need to input 3000 and 60,000?

@@Gregorybridgewater yeah it all works in electrical RPM. Because the 4 pole has twice as many poles per revolution the rpm reads double.
