I just heard something interesting. (Not confirmed yet) ubi just took ~60-80 titles off their servers. Including a couple of graw and rb6 games including rb6 Vegas 1 & 2. I accidentally play rb6 Vegas on the Xbox. Oh well I guess Wildlands and breakpoint will have to do.

Best shooter I ever played. The online MP was perfect, with customizable ranked lobbies. The ranking system was pure. There was no trolling or you would never find a lobby. Gaming hasn't been this good since Graw2. I miss this game.

I remember when I was in junior high, I played joined a co-op campaign with a full lobby and they were running it milsim style where there were no respawns and we used the standard issue rifle that went with whatever country's camo we were wearing. It didn't matter what class you were, you had to use the rifle that the country we were pretending we were from used. I think that's what really began my entry to hardcore milsim co-op style games. I miss this game so much!

When I played these on PC, I preferred mods that changed the kit to something more realistic. SOPMOD M4's, molle load-bearing rigs, real world helmets etc. I think the near-future/prototype stuff is beyond played out and cheesy, but that's just my taste. I don't think I'm alone, though. I'd love to actually see a company tackle a near-past depiction. Like early to late 2000's gear.

I really liked how the aiming crosshair is free to move on the screen until you get to a point where you would have to turn your torso. Gave the moment a very fluid feeling. Great video and gameplay. Wish they would port Graw 1+2 to modern hardware. If Quake can get a remaster with Online coop Campaign, Multiplayer and Horde then Graw should too.

That's called "free-aim." The ArmA games have it (sometimes optional), Ground Branch has it as an option, Sandstorm has it for point shooting ("hip fire"), Rising Storm: Vietnam has it. It used to be more common.

I love GRAW, the Xbox 360 version was the most optimized and well designed version of them all. I wish Ubisoft would just port that version over to the PC on Ubisoft Store as well to make it easier for all of us to enjoy the COOP.

The G.R.A.W. games are a lot of fun. Future Soldier was fun too. Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike on the original Xbox is a lot of fun too and also supported 16 player co-op, which I have done and it was fun. Even with 16 players on one mission, we still all died lol. I wanted a follow up to Future Soldier but instead we got a very different direction with Wildlands and it went downhill from there. People still play the G.R.A.W. games on Xbox.

Oh yeah man, I know, I know. Still one of my favorite games of all time. If only the new games could have been like these ones. I also recommend trying rainbow six Vegas 1 & 2 3rd person mode, that can be enabled using old school cheat codes. Ghost recon, Rainbow Six, and Splintercell were the trifecta of gaming for me, still is, just now the new ones.

God, I would play a lot of this game back in high school especially in co-op public lobbies, specifically I was looking for the mission mode (no respawns), that shit was fucking insanely fun. I have not found a game to this day to replicate the cooperative experience joys of GRAW2. 16 players, pve, 1 life, proper mission objectives this shit just slapped so fucking hard and from watching your gameplay it looks like it still does! I've played the living hell out of Insurgency 2 and Sandstorm's co-op modes and I think they are great, but they just seem too rush paced, no teamwork or coordination also a lack of care of life as you can just respawn after the next objective. I miss this game.

When I play this game on co-op I tend to get flanked from all angles by the enemy AI making me tense and the firefight tense. It feels like the enemy AI feel like they actually work together, Enemy’s usually move with at least one battle buddy it’s insane. I miss actually being tense when playing a ghost recon game. (Edit*) I usually tried to go with infantry loadouts with my boys, we wood wear the M81 or Tri desert uniforms and rock M16A4’s and the MK48 with one grenadier. We would all wear covered ACH’s to make it even feel more infantry like. We grabbed US Army rifle sections so we were being as accurate as possible. It was so fun you should try to get a team of 4-16 with a us army rifle section it’s dope.

Stable 16 player coop was pretty rare as GRAW and GRAW 2 had some netcode issues which would randomly disconnect players, it didn't matter how great of a connection the host had.

The first GRAW's servers work like a charm. But GRAW 2's always had disconnecting issues for players, hate that after all these years they never fixed it. Didn't matter how good your internet was it would always just disconnect players all the time.

good to see u had fun with it… I myself really disliked how the MP gameplay was the same recycled gameplay from Ghost Recon 2 and Summit Strike (simplified even more)… then the map packs took the classic Recon maps from the original game and dumbed them down to the Graw and Graw 2 playstyle… I definitely put in my time with the Graw games, no regrets…. but Flashpoint Dragon Risi g wound up being ghe true evolution of Ghost Recon..

WOW! GRAW 2's co-op mode is excellent! Amazing that a game from two generations ago can be so good today! I played a lot with friends on Xbox 360 (before the damn 3RL). I can't understand why Ubisoft doesn't release a collection, with at least GRAW, GRAW 2 and GRFS on a single Blu Ray so we can play the classics on current consoles. It seems that Ubi loves to antagonize its fan base and lose money. This was supposed to be released as a big franchise anniversary announcement, not the first PC game and 3 skins :-( Keep up the exceptional work my brother, you undoubtedly represent fans of the Ghost Recon franchise and are a voice that speaks for all of us!

This will always be the best Ghost Recon game, the Coop is HELL a fun and tactical and I really liked that they remastered alot of the classic maps in here with the Throwback packs and Coop collection packs. GRAW for LIFE!

I wish we could get away from the huge, but inevitably lifeless and repetitive open world stuff, and just focus on large set-piece levels that are big enough to feel sprawling and offer many different avenues of approach to an objective, but small enough that each level could be really detailed and fleshed out. Kind of like original GR games, where each mission was a different level, only with modern hardware that would allow these levels to be much, much larger. Your machine would only be dealing with one "world" at a time, so they could afford to really fill these levels with life and detail without over taxing the hardware. Just imagine enemy threats that varied according to location, buildings that felt full and lived in, flora and fauna that was truly lush and felt alive, and the feeling of being in an area that was unique culturally and felt well and truly full of life, both civilian and threat. Each new level would require you to kit out your squad accordingly, and everything was available to you from the start. No unlocks that left you waiting until the game was basically over before you could use the damn thing. You could also choose your insertion for each. Amphibious, Parachute, Helo, Vehicular and so on, with each option bringing advantages and drawbacks. And give us a reasonable sized squad! 4 guys is good for a recon mission where you're trying to avoid enemy contact and gather intel, but once you start assaulting objectives it just feels silly that it's just you and three other brainless cartoon characters versus the world. It's "Special Operations" not "Superhuman Operations" lol.

Funny thing, I only played PC version of first GRAW back when it was released. I remember it was kinda good, but with many flaws. Years later I discovered that a console version were veeeeeeery different and a friend of mine lend me X360 for a time and I immediately tried first GRAW and it was a blast. Still not ideal, but waaaaaay more fun than PC version and way more interesting. It was a perfect mix of realistic elements and 3rd person shooter. When I returned the X360, I started to look for GRAW 2 for my PS3. And even in 2023 it plays good.

GRAW 2 console is peak tactical shooter for GR. Just the combination of map design and relatively intelligent and aggressive AI, when you consider how the HUD and crosshair work it's really just original ghost recon with a third person perspective and extra polish added.

Whole ghost recon series bangs (breakpoint after updates is really great), but AW 2 is probably my favourite (xbox360/ps3 version). I love most of them though, apart from few ports like aw on ps2. OG with console ports and dlc, GW2 and dlc for og xbox, aw 1 and aw 2 on 7gen consoles, to some degree even pc ports, and decent psp version of aw, ambitious predator for psp, and great future soldier, wildlands and breakpoint - all these are really great. Ghost Recon, DooM and Medal of Honor are probably my favourite action oriented series of games (in case of moh, all are great apart from gameboy port of underground, and ones set in modern times, never played vr one though; also by series i mean games with multiple titles that have some variety).

Graw2 was my 1st GR game. I was attracted to its pvp but did try all the custom modes including coop and campaign. GRAW2 lobby customizations was the best. I feel Ubisoft lost track of this and got to focus on weapon color and character customization it forget it's main customization core GRAW2 had. I played GRAW1 after GRAW2 but went back to GRAW2 an hour later. GR Future Soldier is probably the best pvp I played in the series if you don't count customization mechanics. Gunsmith still the best but that conflict mode with objectives was something I'll never forget. The campaign although linear was very entertaining and loved the squad. Way better than Nomad and his squad in WL and BP. All in all GRAW2 and GRFS need to make a baby. Hopefully whoever buyout Ubisoft crossing fingers Microsoft will get the series back on track
