You have obviously found your favorite band. That is incredible in itself. Well over 5K subs. Glad I was there from the beginning. You don't need me me anymore.😭😭🤣🤣🤣 Little update on my whirlwind adventure. Last Tuesday was listed, got call that night that they had a liver for me. Spent 21 hours as they tried skirt the hurricane. It was decided that it wasn't my liver. Went home got some sleep and believe it or not got a call Thursday afternoon to head to UAB as they believed they had gotten my liver. The previous 1 had fatty liver disease that had developed to 40 % that was deemed to high for them to use in me. Unfortunately I learned that that the 2nd donor was a 27yr old African American person who didn't develop fat liver disease. It was hard to accept the that someone that young had been so generous along with their family had given this old man a 2nd chance at life. I was transplanted at 11am Friday. Moved to ICU and then moved to recovery 2days later released to go to a hotel within the 75 mile requirement zone for rapid transportation to an Emergency room. My replant team said I was a miracle. And that what I had accomplished was unprecedented. I disputed this by saying they were the miracle for providing me with with the motivation to fight and work hard to achieve this. Along with my family and loved ones you and your father should take this time to wash you super hero capes, as that has what you have been to me. I truly love you more than I can put into words and I wish you the best. ✌😈😈❤❤❤

I go with the one suggestion made: Poet and the Pendulum from the Wembley concert. But my advice: Do a little research about the song first. If you guys like this, you should check out a song by Northward called "While Love Died." Northward is vocalist Floor Jansen (Nightwish) and guitarist Jorn Viggo Lofstad (Pagan's Mind). More straightforward rock than symphonic metal but still packs quite a punch!

Disregard everything else; Even though there were no operatic elements here, Floor's voice gives me so many chills down my spine in this song. And I felt alone in the world when your reaction to her small "solo" in the middle didn't make you jaw-opened and full of awe, because I am still after watching this a hundred times. It's funny how Son likes heavier than Father xD This song for me is amazing, but it's below Ghost Love Score and others for instance. The riff has a Van Halen vibe For a similar heavy song, Yours is an Empty Hope live in Wembley. For a more "teatrical" song, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean live in Buenos Aires.

I do have to appreciate Nightwish's creativity and ability to make songs that all have a unique sound to them. But you can still tell that it's obviously Nightwish. I can only hope the audio sounded correct on your end at least. We've heard this song before guys, so as long as you got to hear it that's what matters. :D This isn't my favorite of their songs, it's nowhere near that mark, but it's still fine. Nightwish is like pizza. Even bad pizza is still pretty good. I think you guys would probably dig one of their new songs like "Noise". Great honest reaction, as always. Ghost River isn’t my favourite as well, although it’s far away from being a bad song. How about reacting to all of their songs from their new album Human||Nature? They have great official lyric videos and one official music video for each of their new songs. Maybe it can act as some kind of “countdown” till you visit their live concert. You start soon with the first song of the album and finish shortly before you go to the concert, with the last song. In case you want to go on with their live performances, I would suggest “Your’s is an empty hope”. You’ll hear Floor doing some growls on that one. “The Poet and the Pendulum” is a masterpiece you should check out as well, but make sure you check the background-story on this song. I agree with dad. I love the song a lot but they have better ones although Nightwish does not have any bathroom song. You did not do The Poet and the Pendulum yet. But prepare before you do this song! They had to fire Tarja for several reasons. This really got to Tuomas, also because the fans were not happy. Instead of taking is life in real, he wrote this song. That's the story in a - very small - nutshell. Look at the detail of the song: you hear a boy saying '3 minutes and counting'. Between that moment and the moment that the pendulum falls, is exactly 3 minutes!

Take a listen to the studio version with Anette, because this album The Imaginareum album is absolutely amazing. The studio version has so many elements you missing live, even though I think this is one of the best songs on this Wacken show. The song is a obout good and bad, Marco and Floor is trying the kids to cross the river the best they can, the child choir represents the kids. Check out Shudder Before The Beautiful from Wembley, the opening song. (And...the audio her wasn't so good.)

On my scale, I don't think have any songs below 50/100, and only few songs are below 60. Maybe just a few more below 70. And that scale is like where 60 means that you might want to skip the song or change radio station to check if there is something better. It's still not bad song. Most of those songs are from their first demo (1996), and their 2nd demo=1st album (1997), but you really need to consider, that those are very low budget productions, and I'm sure that they would sound great, if they would now remake those. I think this Ghost River would get 95 on a good day from me...and maybe 85 if I'm not in a mood. When you have listened to these songs about few hundred to thousands of times, there is pretty much variation how you feel it. Some day it sounds just incredible, but on other day you might not be in the mood.

I think you ought to dig in the music of Ayreon. I’m sure that Ayreon will also become a favorite band. Floor Jansen, Simone Simons, Anneke van Giersbergen and many very well known musicians are on the albums and in the two live concerts. See Wikipedia for a list. Start with the album: into the electric castle. Or listen to both live concerts: Ayreon Universe Live and The Electric Castle Live And Other Tales. Something’s still wrong with the sound of the music video. It sounds blurred and the high notes are lost completely.

First thing of note...like the previous video, something is up with the sound. You guys sound normal but the music has a weird tinny/echo-y sound to it. Anyways, this has never been a particular favourite NW song for me. It has a strange flow to it IMO. It's alright, but to me it would be a "bathroom song" if I was at their concert. Pretty sure the NW army will provide many other NW suggestions, so I will suggest something that is somewhat related...it's Marko's old band (which is still going BTW), Tarot! Ok a few things first react to yours is an empty hope this one your son will love. Also though as strong as it is you could put it as one of Vaders theme songs or the federation. Lol. Nightwish does have several of this type of songs which may seem hard to believe. But keeps them with Epica and yours is an empty hooe puts them with Jinjer. Yes Floor goes and uses her fry voice and puts that song in with the metalcore crowd. So will it become a new genre will bands take the mantle of Symphonicmetalcore? How about Within Temptations song and we run will bands take up Symphonicmetalrap? Are we seeing another evolution of the music industry?

A lot of people react to this live version, but imo the album version is better (even without Floor). Too many elements get lost in the live mix. Check it out for sure.

Hi Emily, thanks for your comment. We have only reacted to live Nightwish. I would be open to reacting to a song that isn’t live , but I just love watching the band live. They truly are amazing -F

@@fatherandsonreactions Oh, there's no doubt, there's nothing better than watching the band on stage doing their thing. The energy, the explosive chemistry. Also, the explosives. Lol But there's also a lot you'll miss if you don't branch out. Master Passion Greed, for example. It's probably their hardest song to date, but will never be done live because of the context of what it's about and what was going on at the time Tuomas wrote it. Dead Gardens is another one. They just never did it live. Our Decades in the Sun, too. There are quite a few they never did live for different reasons. Not saying you need to do reactions for everything. Just be sure to check them out at some point, even if it's on your own.

Well, about your first comment, EPICA and THERION are as good as Nightwish, if not better. Pity you didn't give them a chance, though I remember you saying in your reaction to Sancta Terra that you liked them as much as Nightwish, no more, no less... @@fatherandsonreactions Well, about EPICA I would suggest "Consign to Oblivion" live at the Zenith, at a good intro to the band, though they have more than 30 masterpieces and all their songs are great. About THERION the best way to start is with "To Megatherion", because it's the first symphonic metal song released. When you asked who was the first to have the wonderful idea of combining metal and orchestra, the answer is Mr. Christopher Johnson, Therion's mastermind... Greetings from Spain...

Well the new album may change your mind on his comment about not having a bad song but I assure you after the 5th time hearing it you will see it is one of the better albums. Yes it is that different yet at the same time it returns to the older sound at tines and also evolves into possible future sound we will see. One thing for sure there will never be a standard sound by this band as the evolution of their music will always be a fresh sound. Pushing all envelopes possible Thou.as likes Dawkins and he is pushing music into a new evolution.

I agree with Father on this one. I don't get why NW fans keep recommending this performance to every vlogger. It's good but it's not a standout. The studio version of this song, however, is 1000x better. The orchestral elements and the children's choir really make this song special, and in this live performance these elements get lost.

Don't know if it's live when I always hear Night Wish but the guitar/bass always seems to be drowned out by keyboard and effects. Annoying. Sounds like Phanthom of the Opera or something. Not my cup of tea. She has a nice voice. Can't say the same for the guitarist.
