Around 10 years ago, I lived in a condo in Woodlands. I had a dog then and there was one night where i woke up at 2-3am feeling very thirsty. So i decided to get some water to quench my thirst, from the kitchen. As i walked out of my bedroom, my dog started barking in the kitchen's direction i didn't think too much of it, as she is quite bark-ish at the slightest sound/movement (neighbours etc) and i was also damn sleepy. However, when i turned to face the kitchen, i saw a white figure standing, facing and staring the fridge. i immediately u-turn back to my room to sleep.

The closest encounter was in Penang staying in the older wing of a established hotel. It was pass 10pm when I was lying on the bed watching TV and the remote was about a feet away...suddenly, the TV just went off and I saw a black shadow move very quickly from one corner to the room and then disappeared..My heart was pounding so fast that I could hear it in my ears..I laid very still and started to pray the Lord's prayer and continuing praying until I felt calm and eventually fell asleep with the lights on. I have to say the room felt different the next day and there were no other disturbances..Thank god! :)

there’s one time ive “seen” a ghost. It was 4 years ago when i went to pulau ubin for 3 days and 2 night camp. So it was the 2nd night and we were going back to the tents at around 10. It was quite dark and we’re walking at around 5 minutes before reaching the tent and i was a naturally curious person so i was looking around the humongous tree around me and obviously i wasn’t expecting to see anything out of the ordinary as the first night i didn’t encounter anything. But while i was looking up and walking, i saw a white dress faceless girl sitting on the tree branch and she was swinging her legs while looking at me, i was so freaked out so i held my friend’s arms and keep walking with my eyes closed and slightly open while looking down.

I'm 21 now. When I was 19, I used to have night walks after dinner at the park behind my house everyday. I wasn't a believer in spirits/ghosts, these kind of things. Not knowing that the hungry ghost month already started, I went to the park one night to walk with my friend. Suddenly I heard footsteps and so did my friend, there was nobody else around but didn't think much of it and continued walking around until we heard it again and decided that we should go home. What I didn't know back then was that the spirit followed me home. Three days later I saw a black shadow drift pass the outside of my room. Few days later when I was asleep at night, I felt someone strangling me. I woke up and saw one tiny black hand, I also heard chants of a language that I don't think is human then I fell asleep. 2nd time I woke up, the same thing happened to me and I fell asleep again. Then I woke up for a 3rd time and I was still being strangled and went right back to sleep. In the morning I told my parents about this and thought maybe it would stop. But after that day, I was continuously haunted and tortured by the same spirit in my own home for 3 more weeks until my uncle offered to let me stay at his home for the time being before my house gets "cleansed". This is a true story that happened to me and was very traumatised for quite awhile but I'm doing well now

Late but here is my mom's story. So when she is living in my grand parent's house, she often seen this women open the door and come into the room and stare at her. She carries this heavy medical scent and just look at her while she sleep. My mom was afraid and lock the door but the women would open it (so not human). She can hear the door creak open as well. She come in very frequently especially when my mom had me. We figured out that it was my great grandmother who want to see who my dad marries as she love my dad. So, it was less scary. When my grandmother died, my younger brother also see my grandmother. He would stand at the door and wave. He would hold the air and bring "someone" to the chair and ask them to "seat". I was looking at it the entire time and almost got scred to death.

Okay.. so I am 27 this year.. so about 1-2 years back I joined USS as a scare actor for the first time. We have two partner for each role / character, during my shift the crew will come to check on you when you've reported at your position before they allow the public guest to enter. So I recalled was during my second shift, there's 4-5 shifts depending on the crowd outside or whether is peak or non peak day.. I was standing at my area waiting for the crew to do a spot check if we are at our places. My area was very dark with black curtains around, and because I was wearing mask with limit sight ness to the surrounding also.. I felt fingers tapping on my right lower calf.. (fyi, my area has platform to walk up to, so crew sometimes tap on my leg to check on me also) naturally I turned and do a thumbs up to show that I'm good. But when I turned back.. there's no one around. I quickly turned back froze, and shivers.. then about 20s, same thing happened to me.. but on my left lower calf. Both encounters I felt fingers cos I remembered the fingernails were quite long like woman's crossed my leg. Then after that I got so scared I ran out and to the nearest area where there's another scare actor.. and told him I'm scared and start crying. After that I went back to my scaring area again.. cos I still need perform my duties to "scare". Which after that the crew came check on me then I broke down again. It was an extremely scary frightening encounter. And I swear the third and fourth routine of that day I am super paranoid. And I had nightmares for 1 week till it subsided.

I encountered one as well with my friends. So we went to pulau ubin for cycling and the fish spa. We rented our bicycles and was happily cycling all the way till we reached to a gate that was so old, and obviously it gave like some strange vibes but we were like “aiyah let’s go in somemore, why not explore more” so we went even deeper to a point where we reached to a sign which clearly stated “NO TRESPASSING” but me and my friends did not care at all and went in somemore. Finally we reached to the main destination, that place was so quiet, so creepy , and to our horror it was indeed a Malay cemetery.... there were so many tombstone, graveyards with pictures everywhere and suddenly one of my friends bicycle chain got snapped and we were so scared that we screamed and we dragged each other and ran for our lives.. but yeah that was one of the most creepiest place I have ever seen and been to...

There’s this story which I heard from my father during his NS. He was assigned to the prison for duty, and they had to sleep on the assigned bunk bed. So there this one bunk bed that was never occupied and looked the cleanest. My dad obviously took that bed cos it looked clean compared to other bunk bed. Once, he was lying there to sleep, he suddenly experienced a sleep paralysis, and he knew he was awake but he just couldn’t open his eyes at all, and he felt a heavy force pushing down on him. He tried fighting back, and one of his officers-in-charge, helped wake him up. That was such a frightening experience. According to my dad, his seniors all avoided that particular bunk bed cos they heard of this incident before, that’s why it was so clean.

Fun Facts: There's a common rumour saying that casino is a place that is more towards the "YIN" zone. Being said so, because casino's owner usually get Fengshui master to build some "things" in the casino in order to gives casino's owners prosperity fortune. Of course, these "things" are usually there to put out the flame from humans because these "things" possess the "YIN" aura. Therefore, tapping one's shoulder in the casino will put out the flame and gives those "things" a better chance to bring your luck down. But there's a solution now ! by snapping in the casino HAHAHA !

Similarly to Dee's story, I went to get my bag from my class and it was like 7pm already. So at my classroom, there was this window facing the outside of the class and I walked in to get my item. I took d and then I saw a shadow of a kid running through, but the boy didn't pass through the open door, which was impossible. So I went out and saw there was a teacher beside my class and I asked if she saw anything. She said she saw nothing so I just continued to get down the stairs. Then I looked back and she wasn't there also. Creeped me out so much I ran all the way back to my bus

I did experience 2 in my secondary school but the first one was really scary to me. I was sec 1 and it was on a Monday morning and it was raining. So I was in class and I was bored so I looked out the window for 1 second and I saw a face. It took me a few second to register what I saw and when I look back it was gone. I was creeped out so I told my table mate. Then I dont remember what we were talking about but she told me to imagine that I'm in an enclosed room and she asked me where would I hide from a ghost. So I said at a corner because my back would be protected. But she suddenly told me "what if the ghost was on top of you". Then I don't know why but I continued my imagination and looked up to find the same face I saw at the window super close to my face. It had big eyes and a huge smile and I can hear it laughing slowly in a deep voice. And after that I shivered in real life so my friend looked at me wierdly.

Yeah, once I was walking on a pavement that was right alongside this uphill slope with houses built on it. So cos the houses were designed with backdoors opening outwards, a protective railing was built to barricade the residents of the houses from careening off from where they were on their elevated ridge, but of course people had to litter this area with their knick knacks eg. bicycles, flower points, shoes.. So I was walking on the pavement next to this ridge of houses, when out of sudden, i felt a hard tug on the strap of my side satchel. I jumped back in shock and jumped again in horror to see that what had caught by bag was this glass latern with a white cloth hanging off it, tied to a stick and mounted onto the lower reaches of the railing. These lanterns are used to indicate that a funeral was going on the neighbourhood, and drivers should reroute to the next entrance. - but at the very next moment, a flower pot crashed like one step in front of me. Had i not been caught, I would have been hit at that exact spot. It could hv been an uncanny coincidence, or maybe it was intentional, but I went in search of any funeral wakes that was happening in area but found none. Haha. Still, I give my thanks to the one who was looking out for me at that moment.

my school was rumoured to be built from an old jail and those who were given death sentences/ people who killied themselves/got caned until they died were haunting the "spice gaden" which was freaking bare no spices whatsoever. Cuz ome time someone apparently found "handcuffs" from underneath that garden and there was a tree nearby that has a carving saying r.k. and ppl thought : it means revenge killer 🤦‍♀️ anyway the rumour died down but im puzzled till this day cuz that tree has poisonous sap. If you cut the bark the sap wld leak out. Did the person get poisoned?...

last year during 7 month I went on a run at 1am cuz I couldn't sleep, there was a stretch of pathway that didn't have any lamps like the lights went out I guess, but it was pitch black cuz it was surrounded by trees and I just thought to myself " If I blast music, they won't come to me" so the first time I walked past that area, otw to START my run, nothing happened but I had the chills. So naturally, I just walked faster and decided to not care ah. But when I had to walk through that area again to go back home, I saw a black figure stand up from the bushes and it came towards me. AND I'VE NEVER ENCOUNTERED ANY OF THESE PARANORMAL ACTIVITIES BEFORE so I just rubbed my eyes and thought like am I really seeing this. is there really smth walking to me. I was so engrossed and enjoying the podcast that I jumped at 30:44 when I saw the hand appeared behind Sylvia. Here is my personal experience: I shared the room with my siblings and I slept on the top of a double decker bed. I stayed in this house from Primary 3 to 5. Within this 2-3 years of my stay there, there was once I fell off the top of the bed while I was sleeping. I was fortunate that my head and upper body landed on the bed/mattress area of my siblings below while my legs slammed onto the floor. Neither me nor my family thought too much about it and believed it was just an accident. After the accident I swapped position with my elder sibling, so now I sleep at the bottom of the double decker bed.. *To provide the context for later part, my house back then didnt have window grills, we only had windows, so it will always be breezy and easy to clean for household chores.* Some time passed, I was down with a fever, didnt go to school and was sleeping in the room alone in the day. I was in a drowsy state, and saw a man in soldier uniform sitting on the window ledge of my room, his legs were outside and body were faced front (outside of my house). I looked at his back view for approximately 2-5 seconds when his head suddenly turned (inwards to the house) and just looked at me blankly. His looks were normal, not as scary/dramatic as hollywood, but I am unsure (till today) why I am not able to remember his face. In my memory his face was blurred. I cried and ran to my mom for comfort, told them what I saw and they convinced me that it was probably because I watched too much shows that triggered the hallucinations. Nothing happened after that incident till I moved house. About a year later, my parents announced to me and my siblings that we were moving house, and we moved without thinking too much. A couple of months after we settled in the new house, my mom explained to me that after the 'soldier' incident, they went to check with the agent who sold them the house on the history of that unit. The agent then revealed that the previous owners had a son who was in his 20s that passed on in that room due to sickness, they were getting a divorce after and was selling the unit at a lower price than usual which happened to be bought by my parents. Only after hearing it from the agent themselves (they didnt tell the agent about my encounter), they figured that maybe that was why I had the encounter and decided to move house without scaring me and my siblings.. The end~ #truestory

There was one experience (my only experience) I had that was quite similar to Slyvia's scary one. I was praying at Mandai Columbarium for my grandfather (who've I've never seen before) because he passed before I was born. So my dad was going through quite a tough time and I was praying that things would look up for him, it came from a really genuine place. And suddenly I felt a stroke on the back of my head, I could clearly feel fingers. I thought it was the wind or flowers, so I turned and the flowers were off to the side and not directly behind me. There was no wind at all. So it was quite a non-threatening, peaceful, reassuring feeling.

so one time in primary school, everyone uses this staircase to go up to the school hall on level 2. at the door where is the exit on level 2, there is another staircase downwards which always have a no entry sign placed. one day the sign was gone. me and my friends decided to go down that staircase. so i went down and it was dark. when i reach the end of the stairs where a door is... i look to my left and saw this auntie holding a broom upright. the weird thing is she wasnt moving at all beside me being there. so i immediately opened the door and that door was only able to open with a lock. from the outside it was a door and looking from the inside it was pitch black... idk what i saw tbh

I can relate to every single one especially the school is built on top of a cemetery because I'm Malaysian and I've had many scary experiences too. About 3 years ago when I was like 9 or 10 my friends and I formed a group called the Ghostbusters and our job is to basically to investigate every scary thing around us because our school actually is haunted and even the teachers go to the toilet in pairs. So one day our school had like a team building camp or something and we had to stay overnight. Everyone slept in the hall which was located on the east corner. There was a toilet next to the hall and nobody dares to go to that toilet because there were so many rumors abt the toilet. One of the rumor is that the mirror have red streaks on them like blood.(the red streaks are real cuz i actually saw them). So anyway it was like 10 or 11 pm and we had just finished our team games and everybody was already going to sleep. It was this moment when I really needed to use the restroom(really bad timing ikr). The next closest toilet was quite far and I had to walk along a really long corridor with so many twists and turns and the whole school wasn't lit except for the hall so the only source of light was the moonlight. I had to choose between going to the haunted toilet or walk to the other end of the school. Obvs I chose the haunted toilet cuz it's closer to the hall and if I do see something I can just scream and people can hear me. I was quite scared so I asked my friends to accompany me. Luckily my friends were quite brave and were the type that would visit haunted houses for thrills. So anyway we went to the toilet. I asked my friends to stand outside the cubicle and I peed with the door open so I asked them to look away. After using the toilet we quickly left and I didn't dare wash my hands later we see something in the mirror or what. We were like walking back quickly when suddenly my friend looked at her left and whispered oh my god. She was pale and shivering. I was abt to turn when she grabbed my hand and pointed at the floor. There was a a wall light behind us so it reflected our shadows. But instead of 3 shadows there were 4.. My heart was beating so fast and we grabbed each other's hands and just ran for our lives wthout looking back. We didn't tell anyone and for the rest of the camp I never used the toilet at night. I always thought back to that memory and I was so grateful that my hand grabbed my hand before I turned because if I did I don't know what I might have saw.....

I have 2 stories was when I was young then someone was grabbing my feet when I sit at the table. The hand was from the bottom of the table, that time was after I came out of the hospital. My second story: i went back to My Kampong in Sabah where that time my mother was pregnant, then i was cooking with her, Suddenly there was a cat with red, fire eyes, hissing and trying to hurt, But i was there and so is my grandma. My grandma threw salt to the cat and the eyes turned silver and it went away. The cat still continue to visit my mother until she gave birth to my younger brother.

I had this fren who is a Buddhist, she said that she once saw a human face floating in front of her at night and in her religion, the ghost will leave if she throws away something that makes her unhappy. But there were a few ghost sightings in her family history: her father saw his dead father climbing in the window and stuff... Help

The farting part by Nina could be true. One night in my house my dad got up to use the toilet. He did not close the toilet door when he did so cos it was dark and everyone was sleeping. So when he passed gas it was loud enough to echo through the master bedroom. Then out of nowhere a towel flew down from the rack in the master bedroom. Right before his eyes. There was no wind.

Maybe the soundwaves from the fart caused the towel to drop since you said it was so loud that it echoed across the room

My experience was during my grandpa's wake. He resided in Indonesia so it was held in an Indonesian funeral home. That time I went to the toilet at the funeral home and I was squatting on the toilet seat since it was dirty. I can felt that the ghost or whatever it is was tickling my feet when I was squatting and the feeling was very real. I scolded the ghost as I just wanted to pee in peace though it only stopped for a while after I scolded it. I went back to the room where the wake was held and told the story to my mum. She chided me for squatting on the toilet seat. It was a funeral home and most people who died will be brought there so it is not surprising that you will encounter some ghosts there

This happened when I was 10. One night, it was about past 8PM and I was asleep. My siblings were watching movie in the other room. Because I live in the Philippines and we must always conserve electricity, all the lights in the living room were off. So they were watching movie right, and I was in the other room sleeping also. The light was off there as well. I was sleeping on my stomach, and my feet were closer to the door (which was open), therefore, I wasn’t gonna see if someone comes in. I was in deep sleep, but was like quickly awaken because someone grabbed me by my left calf. I was practically dragged until I fell off the bed. My forehead hit the floor, and I screamed in panic. Since I was on my stomach, I couldn’t see who was dragging me, plus it was dark. I was pulled so forcefully until nearly outside the room. I grabbed the doorframe and screamed my lungs out. I was screaming. But surprisingly no one heard me. I was practically holding on to the doorframe like my life depended on it. Then, the force let me go, just as when the other room opened and I saw my eldest brother. I was crying and screaming at the same time. When he turned on the light, he was so shocked to see me in that state. I was shaking in fear. When he went near me, he stopped and looked at my left calf and asked what happened. I screamed some more when I looked at it. There was a red mark on my calf, like you know when it’s gripped so hard. It looked like a chicken foot, only it’s like the size of a grownup’s hand. But the shape was like a chicken foot gripping me. Only four fingers with the same length.
