Ghost Town - Dummer, Saskatchewan

While on vacation, I decided to go car camping in a town with no people and a few abandoned buildings. Let's have a look at those.

I was a relief grain buyer in Dummer in the mid eighties. There was one Pool elevator at the time powered by a Ruston Hornsby diesel engine. The population at that time not including me was 3. There was a store still open and you could buy the basic stuff, gasoline and propane.

My family is from southern Sask and I love exploring abandoned houses and towns. My dads home town is just north of Fir Mountain which is abandoned. If you haven't been down there I highly recommend it Weather Wolf.

Thats gramps old farmhouse,hes dead and mega farms have bot out the family farm!

My own grandpa had a lot to say about those mega farms when he was still with us. Always said it was going to happen, and he didn’t like it one bit. I’m with him on that one.

Interesting, but the grass is mowed besides rd! So what major town is nearby? South of Regina Saskatoon, or norther Saskatchewan? All the baby boomers left the farm 40 yrs ago! Watch out for okd wells,no ones gonna hear u scream fir help if u fall in! So did u notify family where ud be!? We dont understand the equipement your on about! Drone yes,gimble no,what is that?😮 I looked it up, 1 hour south of Regina! Free camping hurray!!!

Funny,they left the old hydro poles! Winter is brutal in Saskatchewan, the wind never stops blowing, I spent a winter in Saskatoon, minus 42 farenheight!😮 the snow crunches when you walk on it, when it's so cold! 😮 Electric cars dont charge in very cold winter weather, and you'd freeze to death out here with no one around to help! Electric cars out here are no darn good! KZbin shows the evs lined up to get a charge,says they'll be there till 3 am! Gimme a gas job it'll get me the fuk outa here asap! Looked like a nice farmhouse at one time! The old chair is from around the early 70's! I met a guy down in windsor,ontario,he said him and his wife were movin to Saskatchewan! The next time i saw him in Calgary or Vancouver, he told me he asked his wife to move to Vancouver where it warmer! She said no,got a good job here,so he told me he said bye,I'm going somewhere where it's a lot warmer! Like Vancouver, so he goes down to the garage, starts the car,opens the garage door,and his wife cones down ,he tells me,and she says,where the fukl do u think your going? Its -80 farenheight outside right now! He say vancouver ,bye! She says its very cold outside youd better wait till it warms up a bit! he says no,opens garage door back up the old car,and it stalls halfway out the door, in this freezi g cold,and hes worried it wont start if he leaves it there,and the house will get cold too,so he gets wife to push car back inside garage,then he tells me she said its minus fuvking 80 outside right now!😮 He did leave,when it warmed up to minus 40 farenheight! Ya gotta luv Saskatchewan weather! Wez all left da farm!😮

It will be the local R.M. who does it, especially if there's still a lot of road traffic....keeps the wildlife visible

Right on vandals suck! Big sattelite dish also known as : bud! Big ugly dish! I got linux to talk to one via cable and an old tun computer card,it told me im not allowed to connect!
