Ya know what's so good about the music in Ghost Trick? Other than the fact it fucking slaps? It perfectly blends a jazzy feel with haunting, echoing notes to bring to mind something that's equal parts sinister and smooth as fuck. This sets the tone for the game perfectly. The song works absolutely grand here, Vader.

The tune in the video is a demonstration of the soundfont. Bear in mind that I've never played Ghost Trick before, or listened to its music. I have NO clue what it sounds like, so I just made whatever using the soundfont.

i definitely think your soundfont videos are criminally underrated, i'm sure there's a few subs here and there that don't realize you do these really awesome soundfont demonstration songs with 'em you definitely branched out with this one, and it paid off super hard.

I've only recently started doing my own demonstrations IN the videos. Before, I'd just pick a tune that's already in the game and just use that. I consider this something of a challenge of my composing skills. For every soundfont, I must make one demonstration track for the subsequent video.

as a fellow Ace Attorney fan, i highly recommend you play Ghost Trick i dont know if the iOS port still works on modern iOS versions but if it does it's a really solid port and a good way to get into the game if you don't wanna pirate it on the DS

@@Purple2Pi Gameplay and immersion matter to me far more than the damn graphics. Take EA's Battlefront for example. They spent all that time making it LOOK high quality (though it still manages to look wrong somehow), but it plays, sounds and feels like total ASS. Don't give me a slightly iced muffin when I ask for a cake. For someone who knows how to make a cake, it should be easy. But EA specializes in muffins with a little icing added to make it look 'appealing' so an unfortunate schmuck will be suckered into buying it. ...and they add an extra toy for you, but you can only have it for an extra $19.99

iteachvader The iOS port is excellent and still works on 64bit iOS. As for the graphics, they’re the same as on the DS, except they’re at a much higher resolution. There are borders added to maintain the iPhone 4 or iPad aspect ratio though. The DS version is still great too though.

Not going to lie, I like this beat a lot. Sounds like a track that would play in the options or a scene when you meet a specific character. I require an extended version! Vader you got a talent with making beats out of seemingly nothing. That’s a feat.

I am forever grateful for your hard work. I wanna know (if it's okay to spill the secret) how are you ripping these soundfonts? I already do a lot of emulation shenanigans and it'd be cool to see if I can look into these things myself for oddball games that I remember like Crash Nitro Kart for GBA and Pop Island for DSi.

VGMTrans. Awave Studio. Polyphone and/or Viena Soundfont Studio. Copious amounts of unhealthy snacks. That works for DS games, not for GBA. I had a program that ripped all of the sound banks from a GBA game (pulse wave samples included), but I don't remember what it was. That's what I used for the Sonic Advance 3 soundfont.

Considering you didn't played Ghost Trick at the time this was uploaded, I'd say you made a pretty good work with this tune! I can see it play in either a specific character moment or just background music, it works well as both! Btw, did you played Ghost Trick? If not, play it with an emulator.
