That second verse is very fitting for both the 19 and 2020's. "Those ivy league dopes they want to mock us" was how intellectuals mocked both the fascist movement of Weimar Germany and the "deplorables" of trumps MAGA movement. The reign of pennies fits too since Weimar Germany suffered hyper-inflation, thousands upon thousands of German marks for bread, starving Germans and were seeing the same thing right this second globally instead of just in one nation. "Not fighting a war is for suckers" was how the angry, 'betrayed' veterans of the great war felt, that they'd had their glory stolen so another war was necessary to save Germany and to perhaps save America, a good ol war. Feed hate? Come on, we have rising hate crimes now, just like how we had rising hate fueled by Hitler in Germany. "You've got a lot of gods work to do" is very fitting since fascist movements use religion, war, and the nation to get people to work with the nation. Just some interesting thoughts I've had with the lyricism. Everyone's joked how the 2020's we're gonna be just like the 1920's and now here we are, reliving the highs and lows of the capitalist excesses.

I'm a huge Ghost fan, and I was pretty disappointed by this album the first couple of times I heard it. But then it started sucking less every listen, and now I fucking love it. I think that the tastes you have to acquire are the very best ones. Cap'n Crunch cereal you like immediately. Stinky, moldy French cheese straight out of some old farmer's cellar in Auvergne takes a while, but eventually you can't go without it.

Not your best moment, Sori. Inflation sucks, and we're all feeling it. Of course, we're all welcome to our opinions, and in most cases, they're easy enough to accept with a grain of salt. However, with inflation being a GLOBAL issue at the moment, laying the blame for it at the feet of this administration is short-sighted and erroneous. Interest rates have been raised, which is really all any administration can do (raising or lowering the rate). Anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying or simply ignorant. As far as your outrage toward us giving any aid to a sovereign, democratic nation under attack by a hostile neighbor, I simply don't understand your point. If we are truly the champions of freedom and democracy, should we just let them burn because, you know, "tough times"? Should we instead all receive relief checks to help us out? The republicans will never go for it, and the two Democratic senators from Arizona and West Virginia won't allow another relief package to pass, so, I ask you, what should the Biden administration do? We can't spend our way out of inflation, so I guess I'm at a loss for what it is you expect. I apologize for the rant, but as an econ/gov teacher, it drives me crazy when people make sweeping judgments on any administration (Democratic or Republican) without understanding how it all works.

My stance was not in defense of Biden, but in refuting a long-held myth about an administration's ability to "do something" about inflation. Like I said in my original post, there really aren't a whole lot of viable options other than moving the interest rate needle one way or the other. That's it. I understand where you're coming from. I really do. However, my political affiliation should not have any bearing on me stating a simple economic reality. My reply was a reaction to Sori's "now that it's affecting me" comment. First time watching your review of a song. Have to say I found it interesting how quickly the review changed to bashing Biden for the high prices. Not sure what your political affiliation is not sure I care. You might consider doing some research on the song or the album, the iTunes Review features an interview with Tobias Forge. The Twenties is a machine disguised as a leader talking to liberal persons because we need their manpower and without them there is no society. The album Impera came about from a book called The Rise of Empires and Tobias’ interest in history and politics and as he said you don’t need to be an expert to know every empire ends. Kind of like what America has been experiencing for the last several years. Though it could be about any country in decline now. Anyway just my 2 cents take it or leave it.

Well firstly it’s a childish attitude to expect real life to work like a fairytale where there is one villain for you to blame all your problems on. There are straightforward ways to understand the current situation at a reasonable level. Plenty of articles on it. Based on the idea that keeping more money in the country instead of helping Ukraine (to fix an inflation 😂) there is definitely a need for more information on how things work (Hint: the problem always was too much cash and too few products). Spending money in Ukraine is one of the US’s most valuable investments by a long shot. Getting one of the largest geopolitical adversaries ground down and broken without even having to sacrifice a single US soldier is a historical opportunity that could literally turn the course of the country and ensure its supremacy for decades to come.
